When the public reads stuff like this, it makes them think how strange JW's are.

PRINCE UPSET BY BEN AFFLECK'S SWEARING

Pop superstar PRINCE walked out of a screening of BEN AFFLECK's new movie JERSEY GIRL - because he didn't like the swearing in it.
The pop superstar - famous for his risque lyrics - hates to hear profanity since becoming a Jehovah's Witness and has dropped the more controversial songs from his current hits tour.
He says, "We walked out (of Jersey Girl) after an hour. Guess that's what happens when the potty mouth don't work for you anymore."
Prince, who once appeared naked on the cover of his LOVESEXY album, is also urging his peers to use the JANET JACKSON breast baring scandal as a mark that such shockers should be a thing of the past.
He adds, "After Janet, we've gone too far. We've pushed the envelope off the table and forgotten there was a table."
Jersey Girl director KEVIN SMITH isn't too concerned with Prince's criticism.
He jokes, "I'm cool with him not liking Jersey Girl. I f**king hated his album CRYSTAL BALL, so now we're even." 16/04/2004 09:21

Yep... the hatred is starting to show itself. JWs are slowly trained to hate everything that is not JW. With his tendency to speak out the world will soon have a new raving lunatic running around condemning everything he sees
I'm certain he will make a fine witness every time he does this.

Thanks for posting this Devon, it made my week. Toooo funny, lol.

It's classic JW: focus on the little stuff, like swearing, breast, buying lotto, smoking, etc... so people stay ignorant of just how onerous the religion is on the big stuff.

The pop superstar - famous for his risque lyrics - hates to hear profanity since becoming a Jehovah's Witness and has dropped the more controversial songs from his current hits tour.
So, is he no longer cashing the royalty checks he receives for the continuing sales of recordings of his "more controversial songs"? I suppose he could donate them to charity, but the only approved charity for a faithful JW is the WT Society and its associated entities and they surely wouldn't accept such tainted money, would they?
BTW, a review in the April 29th Rolling Stone of his March 29th, 2004 concert in L.A. noted that while he has made some "graceful lyric changes" and has recently "tipped more" from the "profane" toward the "sacred", he has done so "without sacrificing either his trademark bumps and grinds or his wicked flirtatiousness." Has there been some new light regarding bumping, grinding, and wicked flirting?

Nothing brings out the humble arrogance and self-righteousness of a man than becoming a JW.

Ah yes, now The Artist  is all righteous.
But as the above quote from Rollingstone shows, he's not righteously avoiding the bumping, grinding, and flirting? Hmmmm.... methinks The Artist Formerly Known As  has limits to his righteousness.

Prince's behavior is just more fuel for the fire of the likes of Kevin Smith and George Carlin(who appears in several of Smith's movies). Both Smith and Carlin love to skewer religion. People like Prince(or any fundamentalist) who makes a show of righteousness make it easy for them.
I've never cared for his purpleness(though I do own Purple Rain). He seemed to carry things to excessiveness. Now that he's found religion, he's going to carry it to excessiveness.

What? This coming from a man who went on more than one tv show with the ass cut outta his pants? Come on, the breast's cargo is life giving, titties are beautiful. But when I think of ass-cargo...... Damn, what a hypocrite, and ass-cargo is obviously something the man has in abundance.

That's awful funny him condeming Janet considering Janet grew up a Witness. Her family is still in it.
And, along those same lines, what's with all the EXTREMELY famous people being connected somehow with witnesses, i.e., Venus & Serena Williams, the Jacksons, Prince, Selena's people, JaRule's mother. They sure are getting a lot of exposure. I hope people are realizing that they do the same things just like everyone else. They are no different; they just deny and hide their dirt!

as a good JWS at one time I had limits to what i would listen to. Some curisng was just too mcuh. but the "average" if one wants to call it that, curse word, never gave me much alarm. I had heard much worse from my own father. I didn't learn to curse until working in the medical profession. wow,
I however never thought i was better than anyone, just trying not to pick up bad habits.
my dad said there is nothing more obnoxious than a reformed people. They drive everyone crazy with there changes and impose their life on others.

The Return of Prince

FCC ALERT! Prince (circa 1980) doesn't like to talk about his wild past, though he seems to take some pride in having been the premier envelope-pusher

As a result of his faith, Prince has developed an uncharacteristic modesty. In concert, he's taken to changing ''I'm your messiah and you're the reason why'' in ''I Would Die 4 U'' to ''He's your messiah...'' Still, it appears he has some kinks to work out in squaring his dogma with his golden-god persona. Asked if he feels he's alienated his fans over the years, Prince says: ''No. The love has never left. I've always felt that there were people in my corner. It's a gift, that God gives us the chance to feel such love. And it's all for His glory: I don't believe in idol worship. That's why I don't sign autographs. When I get asked for my autograph, I say no and tell them why, because I'm giving them something to think about.'' This from a man who often prompts his concert audiences to scream his name. Ironies, contradictions, and exceptions escape Prince like doves from a cage.

Now he really is a JW's. What a hypocrite!

She said, "Uhh, Of course!"
He said, "Good." and walked away. But it's all for His glory. Ok jackwad!

in a few years he will surely be out with a book telling of his ordeal at the hands of jw's, who took advantage of him when he was depressed. the cut out ass pants will probably be back too as a sign of rebellion and he'll be singing 'sign of the times' and no doubt releasing a new album to coincide with the book, about how the rainbow people lied.

LOL *sigh* You know, that's the sort of pedantic censorship that really pissed me off, even when I was a witness.
Has he changed the message of the song? No. Does the song make any sense now? No. Is the song any more moral now? No. He's just replaced one blasphemy--calling himself the Messiah--with another: invoking the Messiah in vain.
It's the ultimate rules-oriented, form-over-content shallowness.

Hey, just saw Prince on the Grammys with Byonce. She tried to be all up on his grill but he was no reciprocating. In fact he looked kind of lame and old, like stuck in a time warp. He looked like he was wearing the same out fit when he sang Purple Rain ten years ago. Maybe some of Prince's non-dub friends tried to get him out and about before he gets totally brain washed. I could just imagine Prince talking to the elders and them saying ok-it's up to your conscience to perform as long as you behave yourself. Of course, you can't really do anything on T.V. these days because apparently boobs are the devil according to Colin Powell's son. I just hope Prince didn't have to skip meeting today to perform on the Grammys.

I know it's redundant but I thought he easily crossed the line of modesty. Was that first red guitar with the arrow tail a devil symbol? He was into the groove enough that when I told my folks he was baptised they were speechless. If he was anyone else there would be a special needs talk thursday.

Prince can go play at a worldly event with worldly people singing a worldly song(written b4 becoming a JW), but when JWs get together to jam and invite friends to either listen or jam along, it gets squashed by the elders. Go figure.

Prince joins Jehovah's
From ANTONELLA LAZZERI in Los Angeles
POP star Prince is banging on people’s front doors — after becoming a Jehovah’s Witness.
The pint-sized singer tries to recruit people to the religion by calling on homes in his spare time.
But some stunned homeowners have not welcomed unannounced visits from the star, who had hits with Let’s Go Crazy and Purple Rain.
A Jewish housewife in Eden Prairie, Minneapolis, told how Prince and his religious sidekick — former Sly and the Family Stone bass player Larry Graham — asked to be let in.
The woman, called Rochelle, said: “Door bell rings. My husband runs upstairs and says, ‘Prince is at the door!’
“I say, ‘No way!’ It was so bizarre. This is Sunday and it’s the night of Yom Kippur.
“My first thought is, ‘Cool, cool, cool. He wants to use my house for a set. I’m glad! Demolish the whole thing!’
“Then they start in on this Jehovah’s Witnesses stuff. I say, ‘You know what? You’ve walked into a Jewish household, and this is not something I’m interested in.’
“He says, ‘Can I just finish?’ Then the other guy gets out his little Bible and starts reading about the land of Israel.
“They stayed for about 25 minutes and left us a pamphlet. He was very kind.”
The pair then drove off. Prince’s lawyer Londell Macmillan said he was “very committed” to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Gerard, I second SFJim's comment. In fact, 75% of all pedophile vicitms are female and the pedophiles are married, white men. There is no homosexual component. Pedophiles prey on children not because of their gender but because of their age.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but for anyone who is interested in the alleged "connection" between homosexuality and pedophilia that the WTBTS and other ultraconservative religions claim, I have written an essay on the subject which can be read at: http://www.gayxjw.org/ped.html
Now, can we please return to the topic of Prince?

blondie
blondie 12 years ago

I would expect a parent to teach their child moral values, not someone at the door, or at work, or at school, or in govenrment positions, Gerard, no matter what their moral stance, even if it agreed with mine.
If the goal is to protect your child from pedophiles, then it is important to recognize where the danger originates. Homosexuals are not more likely to be pedophiles; in fact based on the studies done, less likely.

Blondie (abuse survivor)
Sorry I didn't mean to hijack this, but it is a pet peeve and takes attention from the real danger.

Are you guys saying Prince is a homosexual? I have never heard that before.
Mulan,
There have been rumors for years that Prince is gay, simply because he is effeminate.
He is married and has a child. While the possibility that he is gay exists, I doubt that if he wanted to remain closeted that he would be so brazenly effeminate. Myself, I think it is a part of his performance, nothing more.
Besides, I know a number of heterosexual men who are far more effeminate than I am.

Point #1, Let's see, ummm, he's dated Vanity, Appolonia, Kim basinger, Sheena Easton, etc. etc. I don't think these women with their positions would be a "beard" for Prince. It's an act, he's 5'3" tall, so I assume "androgynous" clothes would look cooler in the 80's when androgyny was the deal anyway, than his next choice, which would be garanimals & underoos.
Point #2: Yeah, jim, the whole, Fem/Butch thing does'nt always have anything to do with who one sleeps with. I'm fairly "manly", but simply because I used to act, be a massage therapist, & wear nice clothes, LOTS of people thought I was Gay. Including some gay people. I guess I was what you'd call a "Metrosexual".
I once met what I thought was a "Man" that had the hots for me. Turned out it was a female transgender that preferred to live life in the guise of a man. She had'nt had an addadicktome, & had no intention of doing so. She/he was very attractive on an intellectual level, but it was just to weird for me. She had all the right parts, but was a guy in all other ways! So, like I said, gender identity is a pretty strange free flowing thing, not always easily identifiable. Unfortunately, often both sides, gay & straight want to put you in a pigeonhole. My poor BI friends get flicked shit from both sides of the spectrum to choose.

Strange, that he wears the homosexual and/or transgender symbols for photo sessions..
Is it any stranger than professional race car drivers sporting symbols for Anhaeuser Busch and other beer manufacturers on their vehicles? Are they advocating drinking while driving? Of course not! Prince's sexuality has nothing to do with his commercial enterprise. It is little more than a publicity gimmick -- a very effective one, I might add, to evoke such responses.

"I'm not a homosexual, but I play one on television."
My point I'm trying to make is that he is hardly someone who could attempt to preach to me on morals and good examples.
I can infer from this statement that you consider homosexuals to be amoral and bad examples. If this is so, the WTBTS taught you well. Implications that homosexuals are without morals only serves to perpetuate homophobia and bigotry.
Even if you meant that Prince is a bad example because of his effeminate manner of dress, I sincerely doubt that he dresses in this manner at the Kingdom Hall, while out in field service, or while engaging in Bible studies (if he has any). It would not be tolerated, no matter how famous he is. I understand, in fact, that he's toned himself down somewhat since becoming a JW.
Just wondering, does't it make you wonder how he was accepted & baptized? How long do you think he will last in that cult?
As long as he continues to contribute financially and does nothing outrageous to "harm the good name of Jehovah's Organization" (such as Michael Jackson's Thriller video), he will be around for a long, long time. Unless, of course, he goes online and starts participating here at JWD -- we'll teach him a thing or two.

I was talking to a friend of mine that is still a witness, and the topic of Prince came up. I was kind of giving the impression that I thought it was ridiculous that Prince was claiming to be a baptized witness. I just thought it to be very strange to act and dress the way he does and be able to call himself a witness in good standing. My friend was offended that I was judging Prince.
You know there is talk in the halls about how great it is to have Brother Nelson amongst them. Hey, now they can have some entertainment in the New System. But that would be a little showy now, wouldn't it? Prince shouldn't be calling attention to himself.

What's that thingie that looks like a pacifier? Could it be a Froidean slip
People who wear a pacifier are usually people who do the drug Ecstasy... they like to suck on them because it somehow makes the high more enjoyable. Maybe that is just his "fancy" pacifier.

Prince, Seger Make Rock and Roll Hall
By DAVID BAUDER
 Associated Press Writer

NEW YORK ? Prince burst into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Monday with some blistering funk, joined by the regional stew of Bob Seger's heartland rock, ZZ Top's Texas boogie and Jackson Browne's California smoothness.
George Harrison became the third ex-Beatle inducted for his solo work. British jam band Traffic and the '50s harmony group the Dells were also honored.
It was clearly Prince's night, though, as he opened the ceremony with a trio of 1980s hits and came out later to upstage Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Harrison's son, Dhani, on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
Dressed in a white suit and displaying nimble dance steps, Prince performed three songs that caught the breadth of his work: the rock anthem "Let's Go Crazy," the topical "Sign O' the Times" and funk groove of "Kiss."
A restless perfectionist, the Minneapolis-based singer often played every instrument on his discs. He said he was preoccupied early in his career with maintaining his freedom.
"I embarked on a journey more fascinating than I could ever imagine, but a word to the wise to the young artists ? without spiritual guidance too much freedom can lead to spiritual decline," he said.
He also warned youthful musicians: "A real friend and mentor is not on your payroll."
Chart-topping rappers OutKast and soulful singer Alicia Keys both cited Prince as influences.
"There are many kings," Keys said. "King Henry VIII, King Solomon, King Tut, King James, King Kong and the three kings. But there is only one Prince."
Browne co-wrote "Take it Easy" for the Eagles, then was successful on his own with "Doctor My Eyes," "The Pretender" and "Running on Empty," chronicling the turn of the 1960s utopian dream into the cynical '70s.
The "No Nukes" concert organizer has mixed the political with the personal throughout his career.
"I want to thank you for allowing me to put my personal politics in my songs," he said. "Music is a very empowering thing. I'm thankful for having had a lifetime doing it. Thank you for this job."
Bruce Springsteen inducted Brown, noting with some jealousy that while he and his E Street Band usually drew an audience filled with men ? and not particularly good-looking men ? Browne was a magnet for women. Springsteen called Browne a "bona fide rock 'n' roll sex star."
"Jackson was drawing more women than an Indigo Girls show," Springsteen said.
Browne performed "The Pretender," paused to thank his manager, then sang "Running on Empty."
Seger, who still lives in the Detroit area, burst from regional to national fame with the hits "Night Moves," "Old Time Rock & Roll" and "Like a Rock," the latter a longtime Chevy commercial theme.
Fellow Michigan singer Kid Rock inducted Seger, calling him one of music's most overlooked performers. In the Detroit area, Seger is God, Rock said.
"Bob Seger's music not only influenced me, it taught me to be proud of where I come from. I still am," he said. "He set the bar for all of us who came from the Midwest."
Seger brought up his Silver Bullet Band for their first public performance in nine years. They sang "Turn the Page" and the wedding staple, "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll."
Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, two fellow members of the Traveling Wilburys, were on hand to salute Harrison. The guitarist joins John Lennon and Paul McCartney as Beatles also honored for their solo work.
Harrison's biggest hit, "My Sweet Lord," came in a burst of pent-up creativity following the Beatles' breakup. He recorded infrequently in the decade before his November 2001 cancer death, but a well-received posthumous disc came out in 2002.
"He often said he wasn't pursuing a solo career," Petty said. "He never hired a manager or an agent. He just loved playing music with his friends."
For all his solo albums, he was saluted with two group efforts, the Traveling Wilburys tune, "Handle With Care," and the Beatles song, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
Hirsute blues-rockers ZZ Top were an early MTV staple with the boogie hits, "Legs" and "Sharp-Dressed Man," helped by the presence of little-dressed women in their videos.
Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards gave a semi-coherent induction speech, praising the band's consistency and longevity. Richards wore a colorful headband and what appeared to be a collection of jewelry and fishing lures hanging from his hair.
Traffic featured teen prodigy organist Steve Winwood, who later went on to solo success. The pastoral, jazzy Traffic had hits with "Glad" and "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys."
Although former Traffic member Dave Mason was inducted, he didn't perform with the band.
The Dells, a vocal harmony quintet that hit with "Oh What a Night" in 1955, were the inspiration for the film "The Five Heartbeats." With only one personnel change, a group formed in high school is still performing together more than 50 years later.
Dells member Chuck Barksdale said he hoped the hall would open its doors to other vocal groups, like the O'Jays, the Manhattans and the Whispers.
Rolling Stone magazine founder Jann Wenner also received a lifetime achievement award.
Highlights of the awards ceremony will be shown on VH1 on Sunday.

How appropiate !!
He said he was preoccupied early in his career with maintaining his freedom.
Well he's kinda kissing that goodbye isn't he ?

without spiritual guidance too much freedom can lead to spiritual decline," he said.
And would you like a copy of the Watchtower and Awake with that ?

Hiya Gitas:
What video was that? I'd *love* to see it! I am a total country music fan at this point, since I moved to Texas and got me a truck and a horse at least. <grin> I still buy every piece of music he puts out nationally, because when I was very young (17), I started listening to him and was enthralled. I noticed a few things: that he said his show was a "family show" on the Ellen DeGeneres show.. but I was thinking a little about that when he said that his early fans are now having children and bringing them to concerts. He can't actually play HALF the stuff that he played back then and get away with it, if it's a FAMILY show. Then his admonitions at the induction into the Rock Music Hall of Fame about "too much freedom leads to spiritual decline"; what the *hell*? I think he is really starting to feel the stifling nature of the JWs, since he is actually going to take this year to do a tour, and *if* he is a true JW, he's going to actually have to stop doing really suggestive music... which most of his early music IS! I think a crack in his facade may happen this year, and Manuella will have a BIG choice: the big money OR the JW's. Will be interesting to see what happens.

the song was "The One". It wasn't offically a Prince CD. For whatever reason he just called used the band name "New Power Generation" for that cd (which was New Power Soul, it came out a few years ago). What is more scary is the heavilly witness related stuff that followed. The song "The War" is a creepy look into the mind of a talented delusional paranoid man turned talented delusional paranoid witness. Then he helped Larry Graham do the GCS2000 cd (Graham Central Station comeback), and it's equally creepy end title Eye-Ma-Gettin. That CD is as much Prince's work as Larry-G's. It end's with one of the best bass solo's I've ever heard (even compared to George Clinton), juxtaposed to Larry Graham barely coherently yelling "Prepare your spirit for Armageddon! God's War is Armageddon! Prepare your spirritttttt!" then a heartbeat, then a new born baby screaming suddenly.
Wierd. Creepy. Don't like prince no more.
Uh i was off track. "The One" didn't make it very far up the charts. It would be a pretty hard video to find on kazaa I guess, but you might be able to buy it off off of his website.

There was a thread here last year, which had a link to a review a reporter did, when Prince played Calgary I think.
It was one of those "intimate" "unplugged" type concerts, and I remember the reporter lamenting, how Prince did none of his old music, just his newer material, and how dissapointed he was.
I'd post it if I could find it but search at JWD is broken

PRINCE DANCES WITH THE (APOSTATE) STARS? O-Kay take it from here posters am I reading too much into this or what?? Prince calls celebs on stage to party at NYC show
 Access Atlanta

By NEKESA MUMBI MOODY
The Associated Press
NEW YORK — Sherri Sheppard finally got her wish to spend the night with Prince — but she had to share him with a few other celebrities, including Spike Lee, Naomi Campbell, Jamie Foxx and her "View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg.
 Here she is EXJW? http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&newwindow=1&safe=off&biw=1020&bih=565&rlz=1R2GGHP_enUS365&&sa=X&ei=cWsOTZfBG4Gclgfil9H3Cw&ved=0CBYQBSgA&q=Sherri+Shepherd+jehovah&spell=1
Prince called Sheppard and a host of other stars on stage Saturday night in his sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden. Lee played the tambourine as Alicia Keys, Jamie Foxx, Professor Cornel West, talk-show host Tavis Smiley and others danced onstage with Prince and Sheila E. to the hit "A Love Bizarre."
Prince recently made a surprise appearance on "The View" that left Sheppard swooning.
Prince pretended to bolt from the stage when he mentioned Sheppard's name, but then slyly told her: "Come on, Sherri. Dance with me, please. I wanna see what you really do."
The concert was part of Prince's "Welcome 2 America" performances in the New York City area; this was his first night at the famed Garden.
Although Prince released a new album overseas this year, Saturday's concert was classic Prince. He sang memorable tunes like "Kiss," ''1999," ''Let's Go Crazy" and "Purple Rain" — the only thing missing from the old days were the heels he used to wear. (He strutted and danced on stage in more sensible flats.)
Prince gave fans a surprise as he dusted off some of the more sexier songs from his classic catalog, including "Cream," ''Shhh" and "U Got The Look." NOTE ALL GOT PROFANE LYRICS
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer hadn't sung many of those songs in years since he became a Jehovah's Witness. He didn't get too wild though and didn't pull out songs from his once-raunchy past.
Prince has two more dates left at Madison Square Garden — one later in December and another in January. Judging from the extended standing ovation he received Saturday night, he's looking forward to coming back. As he left the stage, he quipped: "This is my house now."
___
December 19, 2010 10:34 AM EST
Now did Prince just commit multiple dfing offenses? What about this elective 'patriotic' Welcome 2 America tour?He is worth $100-200 million so he doesn't need the money.

Sherri Sheppard may have been raised as a JW; maybe she was even disfellowshipped - I don't know about that - but to call her an "APOSTATE" is just plain insulting.
Sherri Sheppard isn't smart enough to be an apostate! She's a moron!

Back in the 1990's when I was a JW
Hundreds of rank & file followers got disfellowshipped many left destitute even homeless on the streets (my own cousin) for less immorality than Prince Rogers. This f**ker still goes door to door in good standing.
Michael Jackson was a sweetie compared to Prince and he let the Watchtower off the hook by dissociating.I think the WT is in BIG scandal trouble with Prince.
Time will tell.........

I do not know this Sherri Sheppard , but was she baptized and d/f'd? It makes a big difference in the legalese of J W land. Also, I know that Ray Franz was d/f'd for eating a meal with his employer, but in reality one can maintain a working or business relationship with a d/f person according to the rules. So Prince can say that this was simply business, arranged by the promoter or whoever....
In J W circles the guitarist Hank Marvin has continued in good standing despite working off and on with Cliff Richard, who was a very-nearly Witness but turned instead to "Babylon the Great"
I guess in show biz, it is hard to pin them down...

I think Prince will be a thorn in the feet of the WTS. I just hope that he will hang in there and not da like Jackson. Hope Prince gives the WTS plenty of trouble.

There are many passages in the Bible as titillating as Prince's lyrics (perhaps jut not in today's vernacular) - and not always with a single interpretation. One could spin any of these lyrics in a positive light by saying it's about a married couple (not that you should do that without laughing or throwing up a little in your mouth). Even Erotic City (if we cannot make babies, maybe we could make some time) can be presented as an uplifting message of chastity <smirk>.
In the end, he's rich enough and enough of a celebrity that the WTS will mollycoddle him as long as they can. They've always made allowances for celebrity, as long as no one makes a big deal out of it to the wrong people. After all, just think of how many people Prince has brought The Truth to.

The impact of Ms Sheppard on anything Jehovah's Witnesses Watchtower related is practically nil,who by the way isn't committing any disfellowshipping offenses because she is not a JW
The effect of more popular baptized exalted brother Prince Rogers Nelson on Jehovah's Witnesses watchtower related is HUGE in comparison who by the way is practicing multiple disfellowshipping offenses weekly.
His behavior would have gotten any and all my JW family and friends instantly dfed.
VH1 ranks Prince 5th in top 100 artist of all time between Hendrix and Dylan

This is a sore spot for me. Back in the late 80's, I was a musician, and the elders were all over a few of us that were studying towards baptism. We also worked as musicians. With the exception of one of us, we all quit music. I was even counseled a number of times for my choice of music, which included Prince. I believe "Sign o the times" had just been released. So with a warning that my choice of music was going to hinder my spiritual progress, I threw out the tapes.
It's now 20 years later and I'm watching the purple publisher singing the very songs on TV I was counseled for. (Gag). I hate this religion

Prince gets a free pass from the WT society because he probably donates hundreds of thousands if not millions to them. The rules are different if he's supporting the WT society and alleged " kingdom interests. " It's ridiculous. Shows the hypocrisy of the WT organization. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

If you haven't clicked this quickie clip yet,do so and get your socks blown off.Prince Rogers Nelson directly violates the exact counsel of over a hundred circuit and district conventions talks and countless primary and secondary articles of Watchtower publications. IT BLOWS MY MIND! http://www.latenightgossip.com/prince/ On Jay Leno this month Prince gets funky for the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom
If I was still a devout active dub I would be squirming Rock star Prince Rogers Nelson, the Williams sisters and other famous people have no problem telling the public about their connections with the Jehovah's Witnesses. How can it be that the organization, known as "mother" treats all of her children differently. "Mother" has always encouraged her children not to participate in worldly pursuits, such as being a rock star or a professional athlete. Why the double standards?

prince.org prince.org Cause if it is,  Prince has been a very naughty Jehovah's Witnes s... neutral. EDIT: Listening to the lyrics more...this ain't written by no Jehovah's Witness ...
prince.org/msg/7/349339?jump=3&pg=1

On January 3, 2009, (years after Prince Roger Nelson was baptized and going door to door) a new website LotusFlow3r.com was launched, streaming some of the recently-aired material ("Crimson and Clover", "(There'll Never B) Another Like Me" and "Here Eye Come ") and promising opportunities to listen to and buy music by Prince and guests
Here Eye Come lyrics by Jehovah's Witnesses songwriter composer Prince
Anticipation for what's to come
It's been a long time since I've been with anyone
Careful, a woman's got to be in this day and age
That's why I was so elated when I got your page

Just thinkin' 'bout what we used to do
Make me wanna, make me wanna take a shower
And just lose myself in a fantasy
Your hands all over me, but for now I will have to do

Here I, here I, here I come
Here I, here I, here I come

Motivation, that's what you are to me
And I can just think about you babe and get weak in the knees
No seriously I'm sittin' down right now
On the floor of the shower just, wow

Don't ever stop what you're doin'
Don't ever stop what you're doin'
Oh, I feel like that dirty blonde girl in '9 ½ Weeks'
A minute goes just like an hour
[ Prince Lyrics are found on
www.songlyrics.com ]
And the water pours all over me in the shower

Here I, here I, here I come
Here I, here I, here I come

Dear diary, the one in my mind
Electric rush inside me is goin' crazy
I gotta find a way to make it stop
If I don't I'm gonna pop like a cork on a bottle of Chardonnay
In the air then I drop down to my knees

Here I, here I, here I come
Here I, here I, here I come
It's been a long time since I've been with anyone

Here I, here I, here I come
Here I, here I, here I, here I come, here I come
Here I come

Here I, here I, here I come
Here I, here I, here I come, here I come

I was outraged by Michael Jackson. My impression is that Prince is considered to have musicality more than Jackson did. Jackson did pop songs. I have difficult dancing, decades after leaving. The Beatles came to the States just when I was a preteen. I adored them. They brought me sheer joy. My father detested them, esp. John Lennon. When I first saw Michael Jackson grab his crotch in a puproseful manner while dancing, my eyeballs popped out.
I guess I could have murdered someone if I gave the Society enough money. The hypocrisy is clear. They don't make any attempt to varnish it. Part of me wants to believe that Bethel brothers mean well. This is lunacy.
On the other hand, Prince is a major rock star. The Williams' sisters reign in tennis. Michael Jackson had fantastic success. When I was growing up, the only celebrities the Witnesses had were Micky Spillane, a potboiler writer, and the owner of Dritz, sewing supplies company.
It would be nice if rank and file Witnesses could use Prince as an excuse for behavior they want. Prince isn't that important but he is illustrative of how the workings of a cult. Do you notice it is African-American stars? It reflects a trend, too.

Refriedtruth - "Prince does for Jehovah's Witnesses what Tom Cruise does for Scientology."
LOL!
Seriously, though, I don't know if that's entirely the case; outside of his rabid fans, most people think Prince is pretty f**kin' weird. Cruise, on the other hand, is at least respected by some nonfans. Prince's antics can't help but be way more embarassing to the WTS than Cruise's eccentricities are to Scientology.
Besides, Scientology's "theology" itself arguably gives people far more pause than the WT's; at least the WT's framework still contains some significant elements of standard Christianity. Here's some rhetorical questions to twist your noggins; is Prince weird because he's a JW or was he already that way? Is Cruise eccentric because he's a Scientologist or was he already that way? Were they attracted to their respective religions because of their own non-standardness or because the religions themselves were already non-standard?
I remember when I'd first heard about The Purple One being a JW; I refused to believe it. "Never in a million years" was what I thought when I imagined him trying to get approved for baptism. Then it turned out to be true, and I was like "WTF???? What strange, f**ked-up paralell universe did I just slide into???"
Here's a great zinger one could pose to any JW who comes knocking; "Prince is a baptized active JW; yet he's been photographed wearing a crucifix, sings songs about licentious sex, dresses and behaves in an extreme manner, and performs and associates with known XJWs a.k.a. "apostates"; why has he not been disfellowshipped by now?"
You'd probably get the standard "not programmed for this question" facial expression, followed by the default "I'll do some research and get back to you" response. Nothing like planting an annoying little seed in the soft tissues of the brain, though, plus you've probably guaranteed yourself an unofficial "Do Not Call" notation.

I was in the Oakland, CA area visiting some relatives when Prince announced his concerts there two weeks ago. Of course, my cousins bought tickets. Larry Graham (Sly and the Family Stone, Graham Central Station), also a JW, was part of his show. Prince introduced Larry Graham, calling him his "friend and TEACHER...".
The show was fantastic. He would start a raunchy song, then say, "oh no, we can't do that", and then he would just go ahead and do the song anyway. I was never a big fan but now that I've seen him live, I will never miss another show. He's amazing as a musician and a showman.
BUT - if Prince IS fading, or letting the "standards" slide, how can Larry Graham continue to be around him? It was pretty clear Larry hung out for the rest of the show.
I'm sure he'll get away with as much as the Williams' sisters do.

Sherri has spoken out against dubs on national tv. Hence she is an apostate by anyone's definition.
Next up: Awake, May 22, 2011 article entitled, "I Would Never Do it Again!"

“At another popular concert, the performer is seen dancing with a well-known apostate who promoted sex before marriage on national television and criticized Jehovah’s loving elder arrangement. He was seen dancing provocatively with this loose woman, engaging in dance moves that simulate oral sex and African fertility rites that have their roots in demonism. It was so shocking that some who saw it admitted that they were horrified at first. What was this dance intended to convey? And how does the performer, Prince, feel about it in looking back?
“I would never do it again, even if I was wearing a raspberry beret!” says Prince. “I just intended to do a good, fun short dance, not to purposely bring to the screen something to scare people or to do anything bad. I want to do what’s right. I would never do anything like that again.” Why not? “Because a lot of people were offended by it,” explains Prince. “That makes me feel bad. I don’t want them to feel that way. I realize now that it wasn’t a good idea. I’ll never do a dance like that again!” He continues: “In fact, I have blocked further distribution of the video over which I have control, including its release in some other countries. There’s all kinds of promotional stuff being proposed. But I tell them, ‘No, no, no. I don’t want to do anything on this dance. No more Sherri.’””

Update
Prince on his way out? Big trouble for the Watchtower if he don't go quietly http://prince.org/msg/7/360929 "If the Witnesses could provide clarification. I just attended a Prince concert here in Los Angeles, Cali and Prince shouted out to the audience, "Where are all my Nasty Girls at?"
He also, played an music excerpt from the song Darling Nikki?
The funny comment Prince made was, "I'm in rehab..."
(Interesting that JW defenders trolls are at the Prince forum and have the gall to post WT.org links  They are just like Scientology defending Tom Cruise)

And here:

Prince live at the LA Forum (May 27, 2011) -
Getting the opportunity to see Prince live with my brother and my best friend, ... gone were the overly preachy Jehovah's Witness propaganda that Prince has ...
according2g.com/.../prince-live-at-the-la-forum-may-27-2011...

To my disgust, however, he is still singing“Open up your Bibles and let God guide you to the Purple Rain,” but for die-hards like myself, “Purple Rain” has become one of the songs where you take a bathroom break because he’s played the song nearly at every show since its release in 1984.
The fact that he obviously had hip surgery (as he dances all over the stage - though does not do the splits anymore) and is using “the Prince symbol” as his stage design (when JWs are against symbolism) suggests that Prince has either been disfellowed or is on his way out of the religious cult. ..... One thing is certain (from my 50+ concert experiences of seeing Prince), you can clearly see the dollar signs in his eyes.

 Here she is EXJW? http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&newwindow=1&safe=off&biw=1020&bih=565&rlz=1R2GGHP_enUS365&&sa=X&ei=cWsOTZfBG4Gclgfil9H3Cw&ved=0CBYQBSgA&q=Sherri+Shepherd+jehovah&spell=1

December 19, 2010 10:34 AM EST
Now did Prince just commit multiple dfing offenses? What about this elective 'patriotic' Welcome 2 America tour?He is worth $100-200 million so he doesn't need the money.

"Shhh"
Uh)

(Mmm, oh)
Shhh - break it down (Oh)
I don't want nobody else 2 hear the sounds
This love is a private affair
Interrupt the flow, they better not dare
Shhh - we gotta break it on down

In the daytime, ha, I think not!
I'd rather do U after school like some homework
Ah... am I gettin' U hot? (Hot)
In my bedroom (No!) cuz then we'd have 2 stop (Please don't stop)

I'd rather wait 'til everyone's fast asleep
Then do it in the kitchen on the table top, oh!
We gotta break it on down (down, down, down)
Can U hear me girl?
Shhh - break it down
I don't want nobody else 2 hear the sounds
This love is a private affair
Interrupt the flow, they better not dare
Shhh (oh yeah) - we gotta break it on down
Can U hear me, babe?
Shhh - huh, we got 2 break it on down

Candle light - no (no), I don't think so!
The crackle of the flame will just spoil my flow
Besides, I can be your fire baby, yeah
Drippin' all over U like a ball of wax, relax and let go!

Break it down
I don't want nobody else 2 hear the sounds
This love is a private affair
Interrupt the flow (They better not dare)
Shhh - yeah, we gotta break it on down (down, down, down)
Can we groove 2night?
Oh yeah, ah - we gotta break it on down (down, down, down)
Oh

Yeah
That's it, baby

Ah, U say U wanna slow jam? (Yes)
Then listen up girl, yeah
I wanna whisper music in your ear
That'll rock your, rock your, rock your world, oh
What's my name, baby? (I love U) Yeah
2night I'll teach U baby, teach U baby, teach U baby
2 scream it and scream it and scream it and scream it! Ow!
Break it down
I don't want nobody else 2 hear the sounds
This love (This love is a private affair)
Just me and U, baby (Interrupt the flow, they better not dare)
Ooh, yeah yeah yeah (We gotta break it on down, down, down)
Are U listening, baby?
Ah hear me baby, hear me baby

Why the double standards?

prince.org/msg/7/349339?jump=3&pg=1

A few minutes ago, a JW, (elder's wife who for some reason still calls me 1-2 times a day to tell me about her new purse/dr's appt/what she's making for dinner/etc.) called to tell me she saw Sherri Sheppard on TV talking about her new diet book. I say, "you know she was raised a JW." Caller acknowledged she knew that. Then...
Caller: You know many people will be coming back to the truth just before the end comes.
Me: So when is that?
Caller: OH! Did you hear about the noooo lite in the 7/15 WT? Me: (yes) something something about the remnant being caught away before the GT begins.
Me: Well, it only makes sense. How many are there now? 12K? it was 7, 8 10K over the past few years. If the end is comes as a thief, then per the scriptures  they will be caught away, like the rapture. I've always gone by what the scriptures  say. You have to do the math.
Voice in the background from Caller's elder husband: Well this is "further clarification."
Me: Ok. Thanks.
Caller: I'll call you later.

Sigh.  Bless em.

I am thinking, and maybe, you're the only sincere person she has ever known. And she doesn't realize herself, why she needs to call. The person inside her (who is silently screaming) needs to hear a 'real voice' YOU, every day, if only for a few moments ... hmmm....

I know, huh? When we think of the tortured lives they lead.

And to the OP.. Yes, that phone call reminds me of my mother ............. any excuse will do .. *(^~!

I think the Elder's wife is counting time on you. It really is hard to say though. I haven't met you personally, but to be kind and have a listening ear, when this woman wants to share her day with someone, is endearing and kind. I think it would drive me batty now. As an Elder's wife, I felt it was my responsibility, to listen whenever a publisher called me. To offer help, lend a hand, a listening ear. Now I am traumatized, and can't listen anymore.
Does the brain washed Elder husband, not realize, that this made up clarification, he believes in, is a hate crime, or at the least a "hate thought"...that 7 billion human beings, will die...so in his real time religion that promotes this fantasy, he gets to escape death and skip into an earthly paradise earth, and pet, lions and tigers and bears? Wake up - wake up - wake up people. You are being conned.
The Watch Tower Society is such a cruel, deliberate, money grabbing, sleazy operation, hiding behind a tax-free religion. Shameful.
Just Lois

Dagney
Dagney 3 years ago

Actually, there was a WT in the late 90's, I think, where it talked about the remnant not living through the GT. One sentence, you know, like they do. I ran around saying, "Do you understand what they are saying? It's the rapture! WTF!" Elders, friends at the time, just looked at me like "what do you want me to do about it?"
I don't have the time right now to research that old quote, which sounds very much like what she said the July 2013 WT says. Work is crazy right now.
You know I never thought about her counting time. I don't think so because she rarely talks about anything WT. She was not really a good friend, we met through business, and about 3 years ago she just started calling me. I told her I wasn't going to meetings, and remind her from time to time. She NEVER asks me about the DC or memorial, or anything. Through the years she has been sweet and kind. She goes off from time to time about "See...Jehober knows what we need and gives it" when something good happens, and when something bad happens it's a test from Satan. I correct her with facts every time. That stuff drives me nutty and I can't stand it.
I rarely think about anything JW, but questioning the increase of the annointed is a great suggestion... "how does that work?" Since they are all going to be zapped up to heaven, why do we need more of them? Since they are not the FDS...what do they do? Why does mankind more? They are not making any significant contributions that anybody can define I don't think. It's going to be fun to watch the number grow.
Yes Lois, the disconnect of the destruction of billions of people is frustrating. Seriously, people, (as in nonJW's), just do not matter to them. It's amazing. But I was there myself also. We told we were undeserving and special all at the same time. So it was hard to relate to people and the outside world as having worth.
Thanks for reading. That "further clarification" line that elder popped off just slayed me.

Family member is elder. He confided once that there are some who have to be onto the elders or an elder 'every 5 minutes'.. about every every thing.
Perhaps if they had learned to think and had interests outside their little box then the myriad of problems they have to have sorted out would shrink.
When a family wedding was coming up his wife had to leave the telephone 'off the hook' all day or it was answering one sr after another all pumping for gossip about the wedding.
I recall waiting at an elders for him to arrive home and another sr arrived and the convo from the verystart between the elders wife and that one was full on goss about yet another sr stay in hospital with details of her haemorhoid operation....
All the more reason for elders (and wives) to be formally educated in Interpersonal Skills.

Dagney,
At page 8 of that WT magazine says that "it appears" the spirit-anointed (no longer part of the FDS by the way) will survive after the initial part of the Great Tribulation has started, but will depart before it develops further in Armagedon.
Maybe you could show it to her at page 26 of my analysis at:

http://www.jwstudies.com/The_Truth_Changes.pdf ( for the "Study" edition of the magazine)
or at page 26 of my analysis at:

http://www.jwstudies.com/The_Truth_Changes_in_the_simplified_Watchtower.pdf ( for the "Simplified" edition of the magazine).
Please give her a copy of my analysis.
Doug

I think this is by far the best way to reach JWs and wake them up. To go to a KH where nobody knows you and seem interested but raise questions either before or after the meeting. If it only helps one person, it's worth it.
Some may say it's sneaky etc... but no way can you talk to a brother on the ministry in a negative way. But going to a hall and pretending to want a study or know more. That way it's possible to seed some truths.

You'd have to play it very cool or you risk being someone realized as an undercover deprogramer.
The inter-net could be used since its available to just about everyone.
The inter-net makes the GB leaders very nervous and paranoid indeed.

As much as I'd like to help others awaken, I'm not sure if I'd be willing to waste hours and hours and more hours at meetings trying to help mere strangers. I've already given too much of my time (and money) at the KH. Plus, I'm convinced (to plagiarize) that you can lead a JDub to (JW)Facts but you can't make him think.

The way to make people in the Borg think is to be as diplomatic and polite as possible. Like sitting down at a Chapters bookstore having a cup of tea at Starbucks sitting by the fireplace asking questions.

I am not sure I understand the interest (some would say obsession) in converting JWs or anyone else. I understand if it is a family member. But, randomly picking on people to convince that they have been lied to is not a something I want to be a part of.
Convincing people they have lived a lie is one thing. But helping these people develop a meaningful life after the devastation that is sure to come if your plan works is something I have neither interest nor time. My attitude may be inappropriate, but I know how hard I and others worked after learning TTATT, I am not sure everyone has the fortitude to make a life after living in a cult. Always remember, there is a reason why some choose to be a part of a cult.

Ruling restricts shunning practices
Amish store ordered to serve ex-Amish
By Bruce Schreiner
ASSOCIATED PRESS
LOUISVILLE - Kentucky's Commission on Human Rights ruled yesterday in favor of an ex-Amish woman who claimed she was discriminated against by an Amish thrift store owner who refused to serve her.
Erma Troyer, the store owner in an Amish enclave at Cub Run in south-central Kentucky, was ordered to serve Ruth Irene Garrett or others who left the Amish way of life and are shunned by those in the faith.
"It feels like a vindication, because I just don't see how it's right or how it's fair that they can do this," Garrett said by telephone.
Meeting in Versailles, the commission also ordered Troyer to pay $100 to Garrett for embarrassment caused by the confrontation. Garrett, an author who lives near Glasgow, said she would donate the money to the Salvation Army.
Troyer declined comment yesterday and referred questions to her attorney, who could not be reached last night. Troyer can appeal the commission's order to circuit court.
Troyer used a religious freedom defense, arguing that her church's doctrine prevented her from taking money from those shunned by the Amish.
Garrett, who has written about Amish life, contended that the refusal to serve her was a violation of Kentucky's Civil Rights Act for denial of service in a public place for religious reasons.
"It was never about the money," Garrett said yesterday. "To me, I've won what I wanted to win. Now it's actually proved that she has to serve everyone, no matter what kind of religion you are."
The case stemmed from an Oct. 15, 2003, confrontation at Troyer's Rocky Top Salvage store. Garrett attempted to purchase some groceries, but Troyer refused to ring up the items.
She recognized Garrett from one of the books Garrett wrote about the Amish life she left. Garrett claimed that Troyer embarrassed her in front of other customers and took her complaint to the Human Rights Commission.
Troyer had said she felt she did nothing wrong. She said that based on her church's doctrine, she risked being thrown out of the Amish faith and damned to an eternity in hell if she took money from the shunned. Troyer had said previously that she even offered to give Garrett the groceries for free.
Garrett said yesterday that she expected to shop at Troyer's store.
Although she left the Amish faith, she still cooks Amish-style and likes to shop at Amish stores to buy ingredients she can't find elsewhere.
Emily Riggs Hartlage, a Human Rights Commission staff attorney, said the order could have a ripple effect for any others who were excommunicated from the Amish faith and are denied service at Amish shops.
"I hope it empowers other shunned Amish people to assert their rights," she said in an interview.

Critical point:
Garrett, who has written about Amish life, contended that the refusal to serve her was a violation of Kentucky's Civil Rights Act for denial of service in a public place for religious reasons.
WT disfellowshipping procedure allows JWs to conduct necessary business with shunned members:

Watchtower 1981 9/15 p. 24 par. 20 Disfellowshiping—How to View It
Other problems arise in connection with business or employment. What if you were employed by a man who now was expelled by the congregation, or you employed a person to whom that happened? What then? If you were contractually or financially obliged to continue the business relationship for the present, you certainly would now have a different attitude toward the disfellowshiped individual. Discussion of business matters with him or contact on the job might be necessary, but spiritual discussions and social fellowship would be things of the past. In that way you could demonstrate your obedience to God and have a protective barrier for yourself. Also, this might impress on him how much his sin has cost him in various ways.—2 Cor. 6:14, 17.

ya i know what they say but sometimes theyre a little picky about what they practise.
i'm wondering how many df'd pepes have lost business or money when jw's have ceased trading with them.
its a tiny case but one day a little loophole may apear that could set a new precendent.

nelly136
nelly136 10 years ago

i think the borg is pretty well covered on the legal front, it might be that another religious organisation loses a case and opens a new door for some sort of victim compensation, it prolly wont be this one lol, but the armish prolly didnt expect to see their shunning policy messed with, as its part of their religious grounds.

greendawn
greendawn 10 years ago

I don't know how the Amish compare to the JWs but they seem to be very similar on the extreme shunning policy, I know they have some strange ideas like playing musical instruments and owning cars is a sin.

For some reason with me......many dubs continue to call me to do floor covering work when there are many others they could call. When we had our home built....I traded work with 2 different brothers....a painter and a roofer. How dubs shun depends on the dub, the dfed persons additude, the congregation/area they are in ( some are conservative and some are more liberal). This is the REASON we hear of different actions by them from others. The "unity" they claim to have have often times.... isn't unity.

Whatever happened to the rights of business owners. Hasn't anyone ever seen those "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" signs?

Stephanus, the problem with giving business owners absolute choice regarding who they serve is that it opens up the door to lots of discrimination. Should your local grocery store be able to refuse to serve blacks, or asians, or latinos? What about based on sexual preference? Or morals, such as refusing to serve people who live to together but aren't married?
It's like freedom of speech; you can say anything you want, but you can't say "Fire!" in a crowded theatre. There are limits for good reasons.

That's a good point Stephenus I think however this is a legal sign for an owner to use against unruly, non-paying, former stealers, and basically people who are pains in the arses. If it was done on racial or religious grounds, and if the offended wanted to take the trouble, they I imagine could fight it and win. Gumguessin

This is very interesting. thing. They have forced a store owner to sell to a shunned person. Some may not feel this applies to jws, but if you live in a small community and do not have too many places to choose to shop it could have an impact. I most certainly have known jws who would refuse to work for the df'd. A family member might chose to briefly associate with a df family member for business reasons, but this generally means, ie, funerals, wills etc. Most would not choose to stay in a busines with a family mmeber. So the WT use of the word"busines" does not literally mean business, they mean family affairs.
I used to see those signs "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" etc, but as somone pointed out, they open the way for major violations. How can you prove it was not racial or religious or political or whatever. Now the signs that used to say "no shoes , so shirt , no service" those are pretty clear and I have no problem with them. however I don't see them much anymore either.
Really, if you own a store that sells stuff to the public, how can you refuse to serve someone unless they were actually in your store causing trouble? and then it's not that you are refusing to serve them, it is they are breaking the laws and likley you may be calling the police for a disturbance. so that sign "I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, " it may have seen it's day. people here in the south used that sign to refuse to serve blacks, mexicans and whomever else fell on their personal shite list.
I too have ran a small business at one time and sure there may hae been those I would not have served, but it would have been based on business reasons. another area where this really could be abused is real estate. years ago when we first sold a home we owned, the neighbors were livid that we sold to mexicans. but The real estate people can't refuse to sell a house to somone based on race, nor could we have or did we want to refuse to sell based on that. but it caused quiet a diagreemnt among the neighbors.

i think wednesday is on the right track. we went through this as "freaks"( remember the fabulous furry freak brothers?) in the 60's and 70's. you would go into a buisiness and they would tell you " we don't serve freaks like ya'll" and point to their always prominent we reserve the right sign and if you didn't leave you knew there was going to be a fight and you were more than likely going to jail. it wasn't fair, but it was. i have always felt that if you were "open to the public" that meant me and you and everyone else. we've lived in or traveled through some pretty remote places where not selling you gasoline or not selling you food just cannot be a legal option. and not doing business with you meant that you had to go elsewhere or make other arrangements. which made it a difficult to stay and easier to move kind of situation.

A true business person would be deliberately colour-blind in their own self-interest. They wouldn't give a flying leap about the colour of the customer, just the colour of their money.

Those signs might look official, but legally their bark is worse than their bite. You have to have a darn good reason to exclude someone from your place of business, and it usually has to be tied to a specific behavior (no shirt, no shoes, etc) or criminal act. It is best to call the police; then they can tell the customer that they need to leave because of such-and-such bad behavior. They will warn them if they return, they will be charged with trespassing. However, if the police even catch a hint that you are discriminating against the customer based on race, etc. it could all blow up in your face.
