Many have commented here about my Bethel experiences. Even though it's been over 40 years since I was there, many have found the stories to be interesting and amusing. Some have even mentioned writing a book about them.
As the say in the "tooth" after much "praying on the matter." I decide to do just that.
I was surprised to find very few books on the internet about what it was like inside the world head quarters of the Watchtower bible and truck society. I read Brock Talon's (not his real name) book. I enjoyed it very much. I feel there is so much more that could be said.
With that in mind I would like the help of any out there, that served in NYC bethel from the 1960s through the 1980's to contact me (PM) with any experiences you would like to share. I really don't want this to be my story but the story of the many people who experienced the insanity of that place and time. Humor is important. This isn't going to be a "poor me" book. I'm hoping it will bring tears and smiles.
Even though there would be limited appeal, If we could help just one person. It would be worth the effort.
looking forward to hearing from you all

Just a heads-up. I am reading Keith's book at the moment, and his writing is excellent! More on that at another time, another thread. : )
That is to say, I think you are the person to write this book, Keith. You have been there yourself, and you have the writing skills for the project.

i haven't posted here in a few months and to be honest i haven't been lurking either.
i hope everyone is doing well.😊 i wanted to take a minute to let you know how things have been the last few months.. recently the brothers decided to finally consider my letter of resignation.
they met with me alone and i let them know why i have become inactive as a publisher and why i no longer wish to serve as an elder in the congregation.

an innocent man killed in the most awful manner replayed countless time all over the world has desire for justice writ large all it.
is this something that secularists can take from a religious event.

Evolution vs Creationism.

perhaps this has been discussed in the past, but i can't help noticing that on many posts creation vs evolution seems to equal theist vs atheist.
granted, a creationist by defination would have to believe in a creator.
on the other hand, believing in evolution doesn't automatically make one an atheist, a small point perhaps, but i think it would be more accurate to say believer vs nonbeliever.. just sayin'..

it is interesting to me to see how even back in 2011 the witnesses knew about the "mind control" and "cult" concepts.
it is very likely that relatives or loved ones of jw's stumble upon hassan and read "mind control" and go and warn their loved ones.

my wife and i had business to attend to out of town today and i had thought if we made it back home in time, we'd go to the memorial.
as it turned out, we didn't get home in time and we missed it, but we had a real good talk with each other on the way home.
we are largely successful faders and at the very least, i like to try and make the memorial.

I tool the JW image and edited it so that it would look like it was made by the Catholics to
entice their children to give their money to the Catholic Church.
If you have any JWs that have not seen the original yet, give this to them and let them paint themselves into a corner slamming the Catholics for stooping so low and then let them in on the fact that it originated with the JWs.

Since they are "captives of the concept" that Jehovah is directing the Governing Body of JW's, they'd simply say that teaching children to give money to fund and support the organizations projects IS the same as teaching them to be generous to our heavenly father.
To them, this example is not comparing apples to apples. They view Catholics as part of Babylon the Great and anyone supporting them (even children) are supporting Satan, therefore when JW's ask for money....it's ok. When Catholics ask for money....it's not.

First some context to this post. Historically the elders meeting with the circuit overseer has had the following format : outline for meeting including ministerial servants then, after they have been dismissed, discussion of local issues. The last visit there was an additional outline for the elders only, the notorious "gender blurring" discussion.
You might wonder what is being discussed this time round, so here you are:
Disaster preparedness - each elder should have an up to date list of all publishers and contact details. A local needs item should take place annually to remind all to have emergency supplies etc ready. This is all from BOE Jan 6 2012 which I thought they had just quietly forgotten about.
Next was a discussion about cart witnessing - nothing new but it obviously isn't being shelved anytime soon.
Keeping up to date with theocratic direction was mentioned and how the midweek meeting was going was also reviewed as well as a check on shepherding being done properly.
So, nothing dramatic this time, until you realise that that there is absolutely nothing about handling cases of child abuse, which many of us recognise as the biggest issue currently facing the society.

I always wondered what was discussed at these meetings. The elders locally always seemed scared of the c.o. and dreaded when he visited. But that probably depends on the c.o. also.

Lostandfound
Lostandfound 3 days ago
A complete bore when all elders sat and were berated by someone who had no need of a job, family to support and a FULL DAY OFF on Monday, on our days off we were expected to "lead" in the ministry
CO never a help or guide, one example, in the 80s and I was PO at the time, during the meeting CO asked if we had any points to mention, I told him I was concerned that a married brother with very young children was worried about them being subjects to abuse when left with the Grandfather alone. The brother had asked me for guidance that week and initial I suggested that his children never be left in potentially dangerous situations.
I asked CO what we could do to offer help or suggestions. CO became very aggressive and shouted at me never to even talk about such things in Jehovah's organisation to leave the situation to Jehovah, went on abusing me verbally for 10 minutes or so. During rest of meeting I never spoke or raised my hand. At mtg end (it was in my house) I told CO and elders they could not stay for the usual tea/coffee cakes etc as I was too busy, so I guided them to the front door. My wife already had the tea etc ready and I told her I was not having that man (CO) enjoying hospitality at our house ever again. The following COs visits, Inever volunteered for the midday meal or accommodation again, which we usually did. No Green Handshake ever again for him. I told the young parent to go to local Social Services for help and after some investigation they applied an "never alone" order to the grandfather with minor children. CO blinded by keeping the organisations name clean, beginning of the end for me. Back then not much known about the scourge of child abuse, although some vague information in BOE letters. I never worked with the cong whenever this CO was with us and waited for him to question me as to why. On Sunday a couple of years later he asked me to work with him in the ministry. I refused, telling him I was taking my children for a visit to the seaside in the afternoon as it the only time I could dedicate to their care, and that was more important to me than F S. I quoted Phillipians 1:10 "make sure of the most important things, "and that was my family. I waited each visit thereafter to him trying to remove me as PO but was not worried, I knew the other elders dreaded thought of taking on the extra responsibility. Years later he came off CO assignment as wife unwell and they assigned as special pioneers, so now they will have had the reassignment to no money. Marvellous.

What is 'gender blurring' mentioned in the O p ?
A new directive from mother, discussed at CO meetings with elders in the first half of the 2016 "Service year" (September 2015 - February 2016).
It is an outline for CO eyes only. Elders were instructed to write notes, but not allowed to actually see the paper it was written on.
Basically, if a guy dresses with too-tight pants, or too outlandish attire, and if he repeatedly ignores counsel to dress more conservatively, elders are instructed to inform the guy that he is no longer welcome to participate in the door-to-door ministry.
Naturally, the language was intentionally vague and no specific guidelines were given, which means that out of 10,000+ congregations in the US, there will be 10,000+ interpretations of what kind of dress is "inappropriate".
Basically, it's just another chapter in the WTS's "Strain out the gnat" version of nano-management.

Like many of you I have been to lots of these meetings in the past and yes they were pretty boring mostly. Now, the co is the one with all of the power and he likes to use it. He will make a "suggestion" one visit then if it hasn't been followed up next time all hell breaks loose. He can remove elders, change their assignments, bring others in - more or less anything he wants these days. This means elders are extremely tense during the visit and particularly during the meeting with him. The extra outline part from the GB just increases the level of stress.

The Center For Investigative Journalism whose website is now called RevealNews.org, has an entire section on stories being investigated by their staff and others on how the Watchtower is handling child abuse cases.
"The Jehovah’s Witnesses have systematically instructed leaders to keep child sexual abuse secret from law enforcement and members of their own congregations." https://www.revealnews.org/topic/jehovahs-witnesses/
Please share you thoughts on this issue because I really would like to know when the governing body and their lawyers are going to properly address this issue because I can't worship in a place that allows dangerous men in, that's what they accused the Catholic Church of doing and now here it is that they are caught doing the same thing but have not expressed any concern for the victims. They have done nothing to protect victims from harm, and once again I can't help but wonder if there is predator community at the top, because the culture of an organization starts at the top and works its way down. This is not something I can't ignore and anyone with a child in the KH should make it their business to learn what's happening and sit down with their child and ask them if anyone touched them inappropriately or asked them to keep secrets about things. This can't be allowed to go on. The mental and physical health of children are at risk. Abuse injures lives long after it happens.

Heaven: They will never fix this problem because the fundamentalism of patriarchy from the Bible is at the core of the issue.
I agree wholeheartedly. At the heart of the issue is the dis-empowerment of the individual.
The focus is always on the WT changing their policies when the problem is far deeper that that - it is the doctrine that has to change. And that never will.

Heaven - "They will never fix this problem because the fundamentalism of patriarchy from the Bible is at the core of the issue."
Not to mention that effectively fixing the problem would a) require changes too radical for an ultraconservative, authoritarian high-control group to implement, b) openly doing so would too deeply undermine their claims of exclusivity, and c) they'd rather piss acid than be seen capitulating to their opponents (i.e. everyone who isn't them).

@ OrphanCrow...
Yup.
To a WT loyalist, doctrines are policies, and policies are doctrines.
Therefore, to require the WTS to change their policies would require them to change their doctrines, and they'll never do that to the degree that they'd need to, for reasons already given.
It's the reasoning behind their "freedom of religion" legal argument; that the state has no constitutional right to dictate a church's religious doctrines.

Hello Everyone, thank you so much for your responses. Everything you wrote makes a lot of sense.
I am of the opinion that something is deeply troubling at the top. One of the attorneys representing a victim in another case I read about said that the The Watchtower treats victims as adversaries. He said at least the Catholic Church agreed that they needed to do something, but the witnesses are arrogant, they accept no responsibility.
My conscience tells me to stay away, and you know what that's what I must do. The more I read about these cases the more I see the KH as an unsafe place because it is not just bad men but evil women molesting children, and God knows what else they are doing. I read an article about how a young kid was violated and the mother took it to the body of elders, and the parent was told that she could not tell anyone about it. And, that's what she did so basically there is an automatic suspension of one's common sense which Jehovah told us not to relinquish. We must constantly try to ascertain if what we are being told is the truth. And if these men at the top are so arrogant and untruthful about this issue, what else are they not lying about? You can't help but ask yourself that question. It is a worthy question.
The book of proverbs advises us to act wisely. How then can a body of elders tell a mother whose child has been violated to put the matter behind her and not tell any one about it because "Jehovah will take care of it." This is wrong. This is enabling a crime. What will they do when the U.S. Department of Justice steps in? If the governing body continues on this path protecting bad people when they should be defending the lowly that is proof that they are not representatives of Jesus Christ and his father. It's just not possible. Jehovah has nothing to do with their decisions. I am sorry but he is never going to approve of this type of abuse of power. This is the very type of behavior that lead to him eliminating persons who represented him, wrongly. No one is going to convince me otherwise because I read those accounts in the bible and more importantly I didn't see Jesus handle others unfairly in the bible. He was loving and just. But here it is that the governing body's actions are duplicitous and egregious. This is why the KH is so corrupt. The culture of an organization starts at the top if the top is deceitful everything else will be. Sorry to rant but I am really tired of hearing them emphasize that they represent God. How could they represent him and allow such bad policies to exist? It's just not possible, not based on what I have read about God's character.
Thank you for allow me to share my thoughts.

Mica said: I am of the opinion that something is deeply troubling at the top. One of the attorneys representing a victim in another case I read about said that the The Watchtower treats victims as adversaries.
Yes, this is correct. The authorities in the Watchtower shoot their wounded. They believe child rape is a sin, not a crime. With the Bible to prop them up, they are doing immeasurable harm.

MicaS, you're so right, there is no way a pedophile-protecting org can represent a loving deity.
The wt cult crushes and destroys. I'm happy the Internet has made it easier to disable their control.

Hi Heaven,
Really? What an interesting point I never considered that.
This would explain why when I was a child, and even as an adult, other witnesses minimized the brutality committed by my mother against her children. But here is the thing, if someone were to break into at kingdom Hall, and trash the place, the elders would contact the police. They would feel violated. It would be considered a crime. If someone were to deface the property at Bethel they would summon the police and that would be considered a crime. And if someone were to physically attack a member of the governing body, repeatedly, or even just once, that would be considered a crime. If the police did not respond properly the Watchtower would file a legal claim that their civil rights were violated. But if a child is raped, brutalized , or violated by a fellow witness it's a sin? The word crime may not be used in the bible but the bible does recognize crime and its impact. Cain was the second criminal in the bible to receive a death sentence, the first was his father, Adam. I distrust the governing body. Their handling of this matter and their treatment of victims is proof that they do not represent God. However,I believe in God with all my heart and soul.

Hi Iown MyLife:
You hit the nail on the head "a pedophile-protecting org" and I must add to that deceit tolerant. Any loving parent should take great care.
By the way, I made a discovery this morning. I went to The [Australian] Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, and was able to download all the evidence, and transcripts of the JW hearings. This is the hearing where the governing body representative had to answer questions about how victims were treated. It is called Case Study 29.
I also learned that the Commission released a Best Principles Consultation Paper on how institutions should handle sex abuse complaints. It was released on March 21st. It's at this link.

MicaSmith welcome to the forum.
It appears you're just learning of the abuse issue within the Watchtower.
The Australian Royal Commission hearing is posted on Youtube if you wish to watch. Governing Body member Geoffrey Jackson was subpoenaed to testify as were Austrarlian branch elders and lawyer. Search: Australian Royal Commission Jehovah's Wittnesses

The Bible supports abuse. Example:
Psalms 137:9: Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks. - NIV
Religions' foundational books are full of harmful ideals.

Agreed. Many Christians have not really read their Bibles. I know because when I quote these scriptures to Christians, they have no idea they exist. I didn't either until I started viewing the Bible away from the religion I was raised in.
When I analyze it, I see religion maneuvering their 'flocks' through the Bible, handpicking the scriptures that prop up their agendas. Doctrine and dogma come from mostly male religious authority figures wanting power and control. And most do not wish to admit evil within their religion or their own leaders for this brings scrutiny, doubt, and questioning God's favour of them.

Hi Mica...Welcome to the forum!
Thanks for sharing the information you found on ARC I saved it. I had some of it before but lost some of that.
Two points to share while Jesus talked about the two witness rule his reference was that it was adults that needed to be careful when someone is accused.
On the other hand in the book of Mark 13-15 he said this about children:
13 And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15"Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all."…
I would say that's pretty clear that the children are not to be hindered. Did he have to spell out do not sexually abuse children? Or can we take that as a given?
The WT hides behind the two witness rule because they are desperate to hide the abuse and now the chickens are coming back to roost.

Mica on another post on this site it will tell you that in the uk the watchtower have been fighting the uk charity commission in since since 2014 to stop the charity commission from have a deeper look at the watchtower records and the watchtower have these past few days taken it up to the uk supreme court to fight the charity commission from having a look at their records.Of course i know to the watchtower the charity commission is "satan" but it does seem that they have a lot to hide.and would explain why they have been making so many cuts these past years.I dont know how much you know so i will tell you. They have closed 16 branch offices around the world, they are moving out of new york and london bethels, they are kicking out 1000s of people who used to work at bethel. And they are not printing about 50 million magazines a month around the world.

Hi Incognito:
Thank you for your warm welcome. Yes. I am learning some of this information for the first time. I was aware of Silentlambs. I first learned of SilentLambs.com/org, on the news. I saw a news segment of them protesting outside the WatchTower. I learned they were victims of sexual abuse and the offenders were witnesses. I learned that the victims were discarded and the offenders played the game of repentance and were welcomed back, only to attack others again and again. It left me very distraught. I felt powerless.
You see when I was 18 a MS lured me into his home to pick up a document and then tried to attack me in the home he shared with his ailing mother who was also a witness. She was in the next room so I am sure she heard me screaming. I fought him off. I used everything around me to pound him. The moment I got free I ran out the door.
I later learned he had been disfellowshipped more than 20 times. And yet, it was a "mature" witness who told me it was ok to go to his home to pick up that document, that person knew he was a predator. How could they not know? When I called him to say I would pass by his work to get it he brought up his need to leave the job right away because he needed to get home to his ailing mother. Since I needed the document for the next day, I decided to go get it. When I reflect on the matter I realized that I should have trusted my instincts more. I didn't want to go to his home but I had no reason to distrust him.
Why was he given an MS position to begin with? He had violated many persons. Why was he still there?
The culture of an organization is determined by the persons at the top, the leaders, or organizers, in this case these 7 men have declared themselves the official representatives of God, on earth. The more I consider it, the more ridiculous it sounds. They claim to have God's blessing but I know that's not true. When I examine God's character I see the opposite of what they are doing.
Since then, I have made an effort to share any information I have that can aid others. I have also shared some of my experiences here, mostly those concerning my psychopathic JW mom. My point is this, I didn't know the problem was so pervasive because fellow witnesses behave as though it is not a "real" problem. They try to make you feel as though you are the problem and if you just shut up (put it behind you and let Jehovah handle it) it will go away. Well, it is not going away. And they cannot hide it any more.
The governing body does not equate predatory behavior to an epidemic but the Center For Disease Control And Prevention does. They have declared child abuse/child maltreatment, an epidemic. Who gave these 7 men the authority to ignore the health consequences of child abuse?
Heaven

Mica said: Who gave these 7 men the authority to ignore the health consequences of child abuse?
Their delusional belief that they are God's Chosen did.
I have said it many times ... the JW formula of Pray More + Wait on Jehovah = People Get Hurt/Sick/Dead.

During the talk today, the speaker said, in reference to apostates, "don't make mountains out of molehills" and "all those who are do good to look up Isaiah 43:18." To save you trouble, it says: "do not remember the former things, and do not dwell on the past."
I'd like to see him read that scripture to the victims of the hundreds and hundreds of abuse cases the ARC has unveiled from over the past 50 years. Is that a molehill?

How about reading that scripture to the hundreds of thousands who have gone through the pain, rejection and shunning of WT's harsh disfellowshipping policy...not to mention the countless number who for years and years continue to be shunned by family and friends.
Was Joseph Sabbatino who ended his life this week by walking off a 53 story building in Los Angeles driven by 'making a mountain out of a molehill'. I don't think so! His pain, like soo many other disciplined JWs was real and in his case was too hard to deal with.
RIP Joseph!

When defending their position that theirs is the only true religion, JWs make mountains out of the molehill differences between their religion and other religions very similar to their own. But when called out on their own false teachings and wrongs, JWs turn around and make molehills out of their own mountainous wrongs. They are hypocrites.

Don't make mountains out of molehills.....what utterly contemptuous crap comes out of the mouths of these speakers....the problem is that JWs are primed to believe that God is guiding the speakers words....
Blanket statements which are designed to shut the mouths of any who should be heard, because we are all equal and have the right to speak, but statements like that coming from the platform, are not said in the spirit of kindly counsel - of course it's foolish to make maintains out of molehills on some issues - but this kind of 'talk' isn't about reasonable thinking...

What else can they say? There congregants are leaving in droves, there bank accounts are drying up, there name is being dragged through the mud because of lawsuits namely because of the pedophile issue. There prophecy's are staring back at them, for many in there twilight years as complete lies, as a waste of there lives, so hard to face as reality so they prefer to remain in their delusion.
There children are leaving as soon as they have a say, there religion has become a mainstream religion, JW-org is a slap in the face to many who where told that the internet is Satan's playground....now what? Direct everyone to JW-org so their superstars have there day in the Limelight. The elderly are being pushed aside, they wants younger tech savvy cobe and elders, everyone has to own a tablet and understand how to use it....really my 79 year old mother needs to buy one, learn to use it, pay for internet and download all her study material to be able to receive gods food at the proper time and keep up with the blinking light? Because God cannot communicate with out internet now. There religion is a mountain of lies so what else can they say?

the cult will take scriptures out of context to protect the cult leaders. It was obvious from the ARC that the elders that gave answers to Angus Stewart were in this dilemma. They dared not say anything that would bring the 7 rock star popes into question. It was cringe worthy. O'toole and the other 'culties' were squirming in their knickers knowing they were telling lies. They would face DFing if they did otherwise.
Let's review, it's a ...er.....thingy.

Pot, meet Kettle. The Watchtower has elevated nit picking to an art form while ignoring huge issues of their own. For example:
They didn't allow JWs in Zambia to buy .25 political card, resulting in horrible persecution and deaths, yet joined the United Nations, an organization they taught was the scarlet colored beast from Revelation.
They criticize churches for passing a collection plate while at the same time routinely manipulatng circuit convention account reports to make it falsely appear they have deficit.
They condemn other Christian religions for what they consider false teachings while ignoring the fact that they flip flop on their own doctrines on a regular basis.

They are just extremely deluded. That speaker probably does not know a damn thing about the Pedo issues, not really. Pedos and murderers are just filed under the "No True Scotsman" category. To even admit that there is a problem, is to open Pandora's Box.
Plus the Dubs have been dumbed-down to an almost inconceivable degree. They equate "critical thinking" with being overly critical, instead of using your "power of reason." A rank and file J-dumb simply cannot point out any flaws whatsoever in WTBTS actions, words, policies, or methodology without being labled and attacked or marked.
How does one warn their fellows of the "reap what you sow" principle, when you are immediately labled as a "fault-finding rebel" for attempting to address a legitimate issue? If you even attempt a discussion, even with your own spouse, you experience automatic cult-defenses and a closed mind. You may even be threatened with divorce, trust me on that...
Vidiot is right, all those tiny mole-hills add up! Guess where all that dirt comes from? The mountain is all the dirt that the WTBTS has thrown on other religions while they were unknowingly digging their own grave.
LET'S REVIEW: IT'S A CULT THAT NEEDS TO DIE...IN A FIRE!!!

historically the elders meeting with the circuit overseer has had the following format : outline for meeting including ministerial servants then, after they have been dismissed, discussion of local issues.
the last visit there was an additional outline for the elders only, the notorious "gender blurring" discussion.. you might wonder what is being discussed this time round, so here you are:.

i tool the jw image and edited it so that it would look like it was made by the catholics to .
entice their children to give their money to the catholic church.. if you have any jws that have not seen the original yet, give this to them and let them paint themselves into a corner slamming the catholics for stooping so low and then let them in on the fact that it originated with the jws.. .

regarding the unique preaching of the kingdom by wt (new creation, heavenly kings, priests and judges, restoration of paradise on earth etc.).
the scriptures seem to back up wts interpretation.
so, although there are a million reasons to become inactive, how can our conscience allow us not to become active in the work described at matt.

The Original Sin - Emperor’s New Suit
by learnaway in Watchtower Society / JW.org
» Beliefs, Doctrine & Practices
introduction: most religions based on the bible, have been teaching paul’s propagated doctrine for thousands of years which claims that human beings are born with the original sin, inherited from adam, thereby redemption is required.
it is not enough to be described with a few lines of explanation that paul’s doctrine is false, because this examination goes against the faith of the redemption doctrine, which cultivated by tertullian, augustine, calvin; and gave a source of power and enormous wealth for the church for many millennia.
however, hopefully readers could grasp the undeniable truth regarding original sin and redemption..

the government should do what they did with the tobacco industry and prescription drug industry and force the watchtower corporation (also mormons and scientologists, etc) to print warnings on its misleading literature and pamphlets.
they can have all their paradise panda petting, fruit eating, khaki pleated pants wearing bullshit propaganda on the front.

Who Selected the Canon? Does “The Watchtower” Tell Us the Whole Story?
by Doug Mason in Watchtower Society / JW.org
» Bible Research & Study Articles
at pages 27 to 29 of its article, does the bible tell us the whole story about jesus?, “the watchtower” of april 1, 2010 discusses the subject: “who selected the canon?”.
the watch tower claims that professor oskar skarsaune and professor kenneth berding provide support for its contention that the list of christian greek scriptures was a product of some first-century christians who were endowed with “superhuman abilities”, and that the canon was not established in the second century..
does “the watchtower” tell the whole story on who selected the canon?.

an elder came over for a visit the other night (he couldn't get a partner) personally i consider him a friend and have revieiled many things to him an figured the tie has come to step out of this religion slowly.. well i finally told him i have no believe in the bible (other then the confirmed history in it) or god.
i did it slowly and tactfully and even non-agressive.. his response to learning i believe in evolution was that evolution doesn't happen now i respectfully disagreed and pointed out lactose and alcohol tolerance among the last thousand years as well as tibetian lung/hearts.
he refused to believe it.

by no means is this a heartwarming "experience" illustrating how an ex-jw skillfully "reached the heart" of a current jw, moving them to re-examine their belief system.
that won't be my take on my half hour visit with an elder's wife last sunday.
no one scored points here as is almost always the case in these interactions.. we live at the extreme southern tip of texas, on the u.s.-mexico border in a city of about 200,000. twenty years ago there were 20 spanish language congregations, 2 english.

so i started a new job and take the train everyday into the downtown core to my office.i have noticed everyday right when you leave the station there is a display case with watchtower pamphlets and magazines for the public to take.
at first i didnt see the witnesses standing close by monitoring the display case but one day as i looked over a few feet away i saw a man and a woman dressed in their best field service attire chatting away.
i found this a bit odd as when i was a witness we always went door to door.

i had no idea that the resistance, governance, and duplicity i am experiencing as a jehovah witness is actually part of a bigger behavioral issue that permeates the entire jehovah witness culture.. i was troubled by the fact that many persons who have been crushed by the unfair practices of jw leadership described themselves as former members of the jw cult, and, or, apostates.

by its own mandate in the founding of the watchtower magazine in 1879, it was set up to proclaim the arrival of jc in the heavens according to the then currently failed adventist claim for jesus' return the year 1874.. russell's catalyst for all that came afterwards was his pet claim (in so many words) "aha but jc did in fact come... but came invisibly!
" he added without sound evidence that it took four years for jc to come to rule from the heavens after his arrival there and that then was said to be in 1878. .
within forty biblical years from the arrival date, russell promised, with hopes even higher than his bank account, that god’s kingdom with christ at the helm would rule the earth in the absence of all worldly opposition.
