Shhh...Don't tell anyone, but.......Sandy is D.I.V.O.R.C.E.D. So the baby Jesus won't recognise her marriage either.

I was just thinking the same thing! I just googled images of her and her face has gone through some amazing transformations. Why would she mutilate her body that way? I thought God made her perfect just the way she was? I guess she is identifying and presenting as a much younger woman than she is.

Just because she seems to have had (a lot) of work done, doesn't preclude that she was born ugly. She may have looked fine on the outside but people who are ugly inside eventually succumb to that ugliness oozing outward.

Sandy Sandy Sandy, keep embarassing yourself. You may be seen as intelligent from the religious right, which isn't hard as long as you are a straight white republican, because that's what jeebus would want for this country. Also to oppress people instead of using funds and resources to actually help people.
But for everyone else outside of your bubble world, you are seen as a world class nutjob. Two with regards to Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, she will scare the living daylights out of all the religious right because of what they will lose and what we will gain as a result of having her succeed Obama, she will have all of them sweating more than a dildo in a nunnery.

"more than rumors..." What does that mean? Is that a way of trying to justify gossip spread by Sandy - trying to give weight to her slurs?
Some day we will have an open lesbian or gay man...maybe even a transgender woman or man as president. If I live that long, I will rejoice. But calling Hillary a lesbian is like saying that Bill was our first black president. And trying to turn gossip into a fact, is like saying that there are more than rumors that Sandy is Donald Trump's playgirl.

If there was anything to 'come out' *about* then people like Rios would only be proving their 'reverse persecution ' narrative is at best premature, when they use the mere 'accusation' of being LGBT as somehow disqualifying of any official they direct it at.

I don't buy it, actually: people just want to treat her as 'deceptive and calculating' over her husband's peccadilloes and her not getting dramatic about it. Also pantsuits as if those were ever all that 'dykey' in the first place. If it were so then she's sure been taking a lot of hits for the team all these years without complaint.

I think it makes sense as I don't see an ounce of physical chemistry between her and Bill. But that doesn't mean she's gay just that they are a better team than romantic partners, well for the last 30 years or so anyway. Maybe there was something in the beginning.

I *don't* think that actually 'makes someone gay.' Never mind 'deceptive and calculating' about it. Especially after all those years of someone having wandering eyes. Oh Sandy, you're about two surgeries away from Wildenstein levels of glamour.
Good to know that we should vote of candidates sexual histories rather than anything hard, things that require thought, like oh, maybe each candidates policies (Fun Fact: Two of three of the remaining candidates actually have policies!).
And yes, Hillary embracing sexual deviancy (as you call it) would earn my vote. The church has been demonizing (and torturing and murdering) people based on real or perceived lifestyles for thousands of years. Sandy, I bet that's a record your proud of, huh? Probably frustrated you can burn people at the stake anymore, iron maidens are illegal and the only place you'll find a torture rack is in the well equipped playroom of a sexual deviant. Maybe they'll offer you a tour?

AFA Radio Shrieker Sandy Rios: Possibly Lesbian Hillary Clinton Embraces Every Sexual Deviancy [AUDIO]
May 18, 2016 Crackpots, Hate Groups, Religion

More fantasies from the American Family Association:

“Hillary Clinton embraces every sexual deviancy you can imagine,” she said, before once again suggesting that the former secretary of state is a lesbian because “there have been more than rumors swirling about her own sexual proclivities since before she became first lady.”
“She’s an advocate of gay marriage, and I mean a strong advocate,” she said. “She’s been endorsed by every radical homosexual activist group in the country, all the major ones, Human Rights Campaign and others, especially in New York. She gets that endorsement for a reason, you know, she gets it for a reason.”

I realize you are talking about countries with theocracies for governing bodies (Islam), but I have friends who are from Syria, Jordan, Palestine who know I'm gay and invite me and my husband to their homes as well as to the mosque, for fellowship, not worship. Unlike the christians, they do not proselytize. Also unlike christians, they don't follow up phone calls to see if I'm feeling muhammad/jeebuses love or power. They let me live my life without interference. So, not all followers of Islam are homophobes. BTW, I'm an atheist. That doesn't bother them either.

I am honored to count many open-minded, pro-gay, kind and compassionate Muslims among my close friends. Like the open-minded, pro-gay, kind and compassionate Christian friends that I have, I believe that they are so in spite of, and not because of, their religion.
I'm also an atheists and they're also cool with that.

How about Iraq before we invaded it? Hardly a beacon of freedom then (except possibly by comparison to what much of it has turned into now due to our blundering Chimp-in-chief, W.), but it was relatively socially liberal with regards to gay issues.

I happen to be married to a most beautiful Muslim Persian man here in Canada. I have never been surrounded by such amazingly accepting Muslim extended family members ever in my life. I think I lucked out. If they harbour actual ill feelings towards us, they sure don't show it. It would be sad if Trump bans all Muslims and our trip so SanFran, Oregon, Seattle and Hawaii would come to an end merely because he is Muslim.

Hey Mike, I hope your trips work out; will your husband have problems with the new visa law? My understanding is that in some cases (e.g. children of parents with Iranian citizenship), citizenship is automatic and irrevocable, and the U.S. just instituted crazy restrictions requiring anyone with Iranian citizenship to obtain a visa. You and your husband probably know more about this, but it seems to have taken a lot of folks by surprise.

You can get cancer from sexual contact.
Who is going to save you from that?
In some cities in the South 7 of 10 gay or bisexual men have HIV. It must be someone else's fault other than the gay communities, because they were told 1,001 time to practices safe sex but on 1,000 times.

At the risk of being accused of Islamophiobia, I'll go ahead and say it:
There is something very very wrong with Islam.

Indeed.
There is, to my knowledge, only one government that has gone so far as to abolish religion entirely- Enver Hoxha's Albania. Unfortunately, Hoxha is remembered today as one of history's worst assholes, and rightfully so. Thus, anyone critiquing religion from the Left is usually greeted with comparisons to the Eastern Bloc in a general sense. That's usually because those issuing the comparison know so little about the Eastern Bloc that they have no idea who Enver Hoxha was, or even that Albania was far from the USSR not just in terms of geography, but also ideology. Most don't even know where Albania is on a map. I imagine if you asked them, they would point somewhere close to Monaco.
Contrary to their beliefs, the Soviets never banned religion, although it was actively discouraged, and one could not hold public office unless they had declared themselves atheist.
I digress. Efforts to banish religion have met with disaster. This is probably because religion is a primordial instinct, much as a fear of spiders (even harmless varieties) is inherent to the human mind. Our brains did not evolve to be rational processors of data. They evolved to keep us alive. And, on the African savannah where we've spent the majority of our existence as a species, paranoia kept us alive. If we paused to rationally consider whether that twig snap was in fact a saber toothed tiger or just our imagination, we might not have time to evade the tiger once it appeared. Far better to send us off running, only to later discover that there was no tiger, than to become lunch.
So too with the belief instinct. It evolved over millennia and is so hard baked into human minds, its doesn't matter that its entirely false. It's there, in most members of our species. Not all, though. Anyway, to outlaw it would mean the forced suppression of an instinct many of our species cannot purge themselves of. We can't purge ourselves of our love for sugar, which was also once useful in the distant past and is now destructive, either. Nor our love of artery clogging fat, or diabetes inducing carbohydrates. Simply outlawing them won't work. Neither would it work with religion.
What we can do is offer a less harmful variety, such as Unitarianism. If you need ritual, why not have rituals that don't dehumanize anyone?

Don't need to outlaw it. Just make it an object of ridicule. Like believing the earth is flat. Like believing in fairies.
Take every opportunity to point out how completely crazy it is to have an imaginary friend. At the very least make talking about your crazy-assed beliefs as popular as smoking in an elevator. "For fuck's sake you're poisoning my air!"

Yeah, but some are more messed up than others. There are many nice Muslims out there, but when a bunch of Muslim countries band together to keep people out of discussions on HIV/AIDS because their holy books condemn those people's very existence, then there's something very wrong with that religion in particular.
Many Christians are just as bad, but they don't control a vast swath of the world that can shut down discussions on basic human rights at the UN.

All religion is bad. The 'less crazy-assed' ones empower the 'kill the gays' ones. Legitimizing one set of insane beliefs about imaginary friends gives legitimacy to all the insane beliefs. All religion is malignant even the warm-fuzzy ones empower the idea that it's okay to have an imaginary friend. And if you have an imaginary friend well then anything goes. One edict from an imaginary friend is just as legitimate as another.
Any christist is responsible for empowering islamists so long as they talk about their crazy-assed belief in imaginary people.
You cant say one is legitimate without empowering the other.
Christists are responsible for the rise of Islamists because they give power to the idea that it's okay to let your imaginary friend tell you what to do.
That is a crazy idea. There are no ghosts, goblins, ghoulies, gods or fairies. So quit trying to empower the idea there's such a thing as 'benign' religion. There isn't. It's all just cancer.

They do, in fact.
Almost all of the opposition to LGBT Equality in America is from christians, not muslims. In the 1980's and 90's, when gay men were dying in waves and politicians from Reagan to Helms ignored us or openly prayed for our demise, they did so under the shield of christianity.
The world's most vocal opponent of LGBT equality today? Pope Francis.

Until a few years ago, North Africa and much of SW Asia were "holes in the map" on HIV prevalence BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T TESTING. As long as people ignore blood to blood contact, and ignore injection drug use in Iran and Egypt, and they aren't even going to begin to deal with sex outside of marriage, their HIV epidemic is just hidden, waiting to happen.

But we dare not criticize Islam or Muslims because they are the minority in the United States. We are supposed to ignore that they are as bad or worse than the Christians we regularly mock.
Thats been the attitude of some commentators here in the past.

I have found this too. What I think it is is a refusal to have a common "enemy" with the GOP, even if it's for different and reasonable reasons.

On some fronts I am very supportive of the UN because I think that some individual initiatives are very positive and important but it is this kind of bullshit bureaucracy that infuriates me. Like when some of the most violent and oppressive countries chair the human rights commission. I know it's wishful thinking but I really wish sometimes that the bullshit diplomacy could be dropped and things could be called for what they actual are. On example that has always bothered me is that the majority of member countries of the Commonwealth legally prohibit and/or punish their LGBT communities. Why are they allowed to remain as members? God knows the royal family would be unable to function without us.

The Muslim states only blocked the LGBT groups because those groups were interested in actually opposing AIDS. Religious groups, like sects of Islam and the Catholic Church, are more interested in spreading it; or at least, that's what their actions seem to suggest.

What Catholic countries are calling for LGBTs to be blocked? This is a Muslim problem.

No, it's a religious problem. And if you aren't aware of the damage the Catholic Church has done to Africa, parts of Asia and South America in regards to AIDS, might I suggest you do some research.

Because republicans are more often than not anti muslim and a lot of liberals (i'm liberal, mind, but of the bill maher mindset on Islam) refuse to agree on anything with the GOP. But even a broken clock is right twice a day. Religion is all dangerous, but Islam definitely at the moment, takes the cake in regards to danger around the world. Christians can be shitty, rude, try to take away rights to things, but there will never ben a large swath of christians who will enact a law that allows for the stoning or hanging or murder of gays (or women who aren't virgins, or cheaters, or blasphemers). People will say "oh they would if they could" but any rational person who is aware of religious ideologies in today's society knows that's really not true. Islam is far far more threatening to LGBT people and women than most other religions. Denying that is no better than denying that the catholic church covered up and continues to cover up child abuse, or denying that the FLDS supports child rape and polygamy, or that a lot of hasidic communities also cover up child molestation and abuse.

Why is she specifically mentioning trans people? Surely the bulk of NGO work on HIV/AIDS is for gay/bi men.

Many trans ladies are unemployable, especially the older ones who transition later in life. They quite often turn to prostitution and inject-able drugs, both of which are "carriers" of HIV.

I realize they're at even greater risk than gay men, but it's still an odd thing to focus on and, frankly, makes our common enemies in Muslim countries and Africa even less likely to listen to reason.

UNITED NATIONS: Egypt-Led Muslim States Block LGBT Groups From Attending Meeting On HIV/AIDS
May 18, 2016 LGBT News, Religion

Reuters reports:

A group of 51 Muslim states has blocked 11 gay and transgender organizations from attending a high-level meeting at the United Nations next month on ending AIDS, sparking a protest by the United States, Canada and the European Union.
Egypt wrote to the president of the 193-member General Assembly on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to object to the participation of the 11 groups. It did not give a reason in the letter, which Reuters saw.
Samantha Power, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, wrote to General Assembly President Mogens Lykketoft and said the groups appeared to have been blocked for involvement in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy.
“Given that transgender people are 49 times more likely to be living with HIV than the general population, their exclusion from the high-level meeting will only impede global progress in combating the HIV/AIDS pandemic,” Power wrote.
