They're claiming that since trans people don't exist, that a transwoman using the ladies room is "a man in a dress" and therefore any other male-identified man is free to enter. That's not how it works.
Allowing trans people to use the restroom of their current gender has nothing to do with allowing people who identify with the opposite sex in.
Quite the reverse. While this guy is not a particularly attractive example, burly bearded male-appearing transmen are exactly the people they'll be forcing into the ladies room by law.
All this stunt proves is that men - cis or trans - don't belong in the ladies room, which is all that anyone has been saying.

I use to hear that, or a version of that, from my mother all the time.
Unfortunately it seems that some parents missed the window of opportunity to fetch their children up properly. Now the rest of us are stuck on the planet with an ever growing horde of the little sociopaths from Lord of the Flies.
There is no reasoning with these people, they long ago abandoned reason for belief. Probably because reason requires introspection and some degree of self awareness*, things that take time and can occasion discomfort. All these people want is comfort and safety, so anything that might disturb that has to be immediately shut down. Having God on your side removes you from all criticism because your beliefs are unimpeachable because you have God on your side which removes you from all criticism because your beliefs are unimpeachable... ad nauseam.
I was reading an article on Group Narcissism on Wikipedia a month or two back and the description the author gave quite neatly sums up the behavior of The Modern American Conservative and it's subspecies, The Modern American Conservative Christian.
I've tried to see the world from their point of view and contrast it to my own. But I am unable to see what good comes from letting children hold on to an unrealistic and unworkable belief that other's lives and happiness must be sacrificed so that they can go on blindly dreaming in false certainty and selfish comfort.
As my late, sainted grandmother was wont to say "Fuck that."
*If there was single thing that I would consider a "blessing" about being a homosexual, it's that early on when my sexuality manifested itself, and I understood I had not been born with the default setting, I realized there were three choices available to me. I could live a lie, self destruct or become self aware and introspective in hopes of making sense of myself, the world and my place in it.
I'd like to think I made the right choice.

I was lucky to be a friend of Harry Hay, one of the founders of the Radical Faeries. He had a concept of the "Gay Window of Consciousness." He believed if you were a white straight male, you never had to think because your entire life was scripted out for you in books, movies, and TV. But if you were gay, you knew very early on there was something different about you, which led to becoming introspective if for no other reason than self-preservation to hide that difference when you were young. But it then led to all sorts of creative opportunities and understanding relationships in alternative ways.

Sorry! Samuel is not a book that I read on a daily basis, nor use at breakfast to inspire my busy day.

The books of Samuel do provide a wonderful gay relationship story, that of David (as in David and Goliath) and King Saul's son, Jonathan. I Samuel 17 through II Samuel 1 is a really wonderful story. I'm sorry to spoil it, but both Saul (who brought David in from shepherding because of David's talent on the harp) (got it) and Jonathan were killed in battle. David, who also had a way with words (he supposedly wrote the psalms), wrote this of Jonathan, which is now in II Samuel 1:
25 “How the mighty have fallen in battle!
Jonathan lies slain on your heights.
26 I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother;
you were very dear to me.
Your love for me was wonderful,
more wonderful than that of women.
It is great fun to read and hear The Truly Religious insist that David and Jonathan weren't gay. Yeah, right.

Can we convince the authorities that an aggressive course of HRT and GRS would be the appropriate treatment, if he is actually trans, as welk as being the appropriate "punishment" if he is not. I mean, is it even worth trying to find the lowest knowledge level from which we can start educating them? They won't believe anything they didn't hear at church or on Fox News, no matter how much proof you show them. When people are screaming about their right remain willfully ignorant, what can you do? Maybe we should revisit the idea of that Christian town someone was trying to build in FL. Wait until they move in and then we can all get on with our lives.

If he doesn't claim to be transgender, he shouldn't be in the ladies' room - and a conviction for disorderly conduct would be appropriate. If he *does* make the claim, truthfully, then he would have no objection to the appropriate medical treatment (one way to weed out the lying Mike Huckabee-like voyeurs is to make sure that they get the appropriate medications while in jail awaiting trial, unless they want to plead guilty instead).

was he protesting trans right? If yes, then it is NOT "allegedly". Since journalism (sic) is dead, no one knows how to correctly use that word. If someone is bleeding out from a gunshot wound, he wasn't "allegedly" shot. He *was* shot, allegedly by Joe Smith. Yesterday I saw a story on (I think) Trump and Mike Tyson (who allegedly raped someone). They story continues that Tyson pleaded guilty. ILLINOIS: Christian Protester Prompts “Massive Police Response” At Chicago-Area Target [VIDEO]

NBC Chicago reports:
A man protesting Target’s transgender bathroom policy at a store in Bourbonnais was arrested Monday, authorities said. Michael Merichko was charged with disorderly conduct following a disturbance inside a Target store at 1615 N. State Route 50 in Bourbonnais, about 55 miles south of Chicago, according to the Bradley Police Department.
Merichko was allegedly protesting Target Corporation’s newly announced policy on letting transgender people use the bathroom that conforms to their identity. Police said his actions caused “panic among store employees and customers.” Just after 1 p.m., multiple police agencies responded to the Target after receiving a 911 call about an active shooter inside the store, according to authorities.
Nearby stores in the shopping complex were placed on lockdown, and police secured the area. Bradley police Lt. Mike Johnston said investigators later determined Merichko made no threats of shooting anyone in the store.
Yesterday the American Family Association revealed that they are “testing Target” by sending men in the ladies room. Watch the clip below for Merichko’s ranting Facebook video about evil trans people.
