You have the right to leave

Dear Readers,

I was thinking, as a child, I had always heard stories about the persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses. In America during the 1940's, Jehovah's Witnesses were verbally and physically harassed for refusing to salute the flag or sing the Pledge of Allegiance. Their loyalty was shown towards the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and Yahweh the God of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. I do sympathize with the actual persecution that the Jehovah's Witnesses have faced. Refusing to convert into the JW denomination is not "persecution" because you happen to disagree with any or all of the Organization's beliefs and/or practices. This is something that the JW's really cannot wrap their minds around. The Governing Body of several men who decide the denomination's beliefs and practices are not considered to be infallible by the JW's, but they sure act as if these men were infallible. You know something, there used to be a doctrine that the members of the 144,000 would made up the role of the Christ along with Jesus and that they would actually become deities instead of being transformed into angelic beings, this belief has long since been abandoned by the Jehovah's Witnesses, most of them don't know about it, but if you read through by posting of the glossary from the "Jehovah's Witness Blog" website, you'll be able to find that doctrine.

The mystery doctrine as it is called as was held by Jehovah's Witnesses, reminds me of how the Mormons believe that they will become deities, if they achieve the highest level of glory in the best of the heavens and that they shall inherit their own planets in the afterlife where they populate the planet with their "spirit children".

A JW who has to endure disapproval for their religious choice by loved ones can be a difficult thing, but the JW's have no problem with shunning loved ones for deciding that they don't fit into the religion anymore. Is this not hypocrisy of the highest order?  Think on it.

Sincerely,

B.W.
