I like how it looks in other people but not for myself.
This is a phrase I have heard often from my wife. Now I am to a point where I am trying to figure it out if this is something all women do or say. I can understand how you would say this if you were talking about a type of clothing that doesn't go with your figure, except that you may add the disclaimer... "If I had that figure I would wear this". This make it somewhat conditional but expresses your willingness to align your wardrobe with your taste.
The way I understand my wife, she can simply admire how some dress or jewelry looks in other women but she would never wear it herself, even though there is no reason why it would not look good on her. Once again, I am trying to stick to the idea that there is no other reason (is not too short, not too plunged) other than the fact she would not wear, even though it looks "great" in other people.
The latest instance on this come from a comment she made about a friends of hers. She is divorcing and she just got a small tattoo. I said that I've always wanted one and she said her tattoo looks good but that once again she likes how it looks on her but she would never get one herself.
I am honestly confused and have always been confused about such statement. Hope someone, specially a woman, can help me understand it.
Thanks

The YHWH/JESUS INTELLIGENT DESIGN STUDIO's Penis Designs

There are many things to question about the intelligence of the designs emanating from the YHWH/JESUS Intelligent Design Studio.
Lauren Reid, a PhD candidate at Durham University, writing in 'The Conversation,' takes a look at why humans and spider monkeys are the only primates without a bone in their penises. Most mammals have such a bone, which is called a baculum . Humans don't, in spite of the term 'boner,' being in common usage, though whales, horses, rhinos, rabbits, elephants, marsupials and hyenas, were also designed without such a bone.
How does a baculum work? Quote: "The baculum is generally kept in the male’s abdomen until it is required, at which point abdominal muscles push it out into the penis, thus causing an erection." Quite effficient, don't you think? If you doubt that, think about this.Quote:"A male lion’s baculum, for instance, allows him to engage in an impressive 250 copulations in four days." Not many human males can equal that performance, can they?
The commercial success of drugs like Viagra and Cialis tell us that many humans are not quite satisfied with the design work of the YHWH/JESUS design team, in fact dissatisfaction can be as high as 40% in older human age groups. Perhaps, the hydraulic engineer on the YHWH/JESUS Design team was off sick on the sixth creative day, when humans were designed.
Read on: https://theconversation.com/the-human-penis-is-a-puzzler-no-bones-about-it-6366
PS: Later we can take a look at some other phallic designs by that great design team, the YHWH/JESUS INTELLIGENT DESIGN STUDIO, you will fall to your knees in wonder, mouthing the words, "How many your works are, O Jehovah! All of them in wisdom you have made." (Psalm 104:24, F.Franz translation)

after working a redonkulously long number of hours exercising my fingers and brain, i decided to take a nice walk--you know, to be healthy.i walked to the drug store to get something for my staff--you know, 'cause i'm cool like that.walgreens forced me to walk down the seasonal aisle, against my will, and purchase 90% off easter candy, using its secret weapon (psychology).as i made my way home on my healthy walk, i was forced to eat what may be in the top 10 of the worst easter candy ever made in the entire multiverse since the beginning of time (and by that, i mean 7001 years ago).the first one had a layer of pink flavored goo topped with white crayolas mixed with sugar.

not satisfying.so obviously i had to have another one to satisfy myself, under extreme duress.

wifibandit, thank you for sharing these!

It seems nice talks will be based on the new outlines

Some become critical, saying that Jehovah does not have an organization
May say that loving one’s fellowman is what really counts or that having a personal relationship with God is
the really important thing or even that personally reading the Bible is sufficient (rs 326-8)
Those who adopt such viewpoints are like Satan
They break away from the Father, Jehovah (1Ti 1:19, 20; 2Ti 2:16-19)

In other words they say Russell was like Satan when he broke from Barbour? When he said there is no organization?

Really?
Matthew 22:34-40

34 After the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they came together in one group. 35 And one of them, versed in the Law, tested him by asking: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

Now i see in my comment i looked to the old outline...
anyway the new one - MOVE AHEAD WITH JEHOVAH’S UNIFIED ORGANIZATION - is also great:

What evidence is there that Jehovah also directs the earthly part of his organization?
Organizational refinements [Read Isaiah 60:17] (kr 120-125 ̊11-18)
Numerical growth [Read Isaiah 60:22] (kr 96-97; statistics from the latest Yearbook)

this is really the proof!

i have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".

the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".

this is huge.

“the soul that does something deliberately [footnote says “with uplifted hand”] whether he is native or an alien resident, he speaking abusively of jehovah’s word, in that case that soul should be cut off from among his people.” (numbers 15:30).

according to this verse, acting with “high-handedness” and “speaking abusively of jehovah’s word” constitute disfellowshipping offence.

1) “high-handedness” is something that jws themselves silently experience from jb, hence require no witness or proof.

these two elders were constantly hounding her in the street when she walks to go to her job.

so she had to send them a notary letter in which she wrote that she would attend the judiciary committee only with her attorney.

During the 20th Century while we had our eyes fixated on our "one-time" idol the Watchtower and their false prophecies like the generation of 1914, King of the North & South flip flops, 1975, "the generation that wouldn't pass away", etc.; A number of actual prophecies were unfolding. We just weren't taught to look for them.
First, it is good to get an idea of what Israel (then called Palestine) looked like prior to the 20th century. Mark Twain provides a vivid biopic snapshot :

Screen Shot 2016-03-28 at 4.34.03 PM
Excerpts from The Innocents Abroad by Mark Twain, 1867:

Of all the lands there are for dismal scenery, I think Palestine must be the prince. The hills are barren, they are dull of color, they are unpicturesque in shape. The valleys are unsightly deserts fringed with a feeble vegetation that has an expression about it of being sorrowful and despondent. ... It is a hopeless, dreary, heart-broken land.
Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes. Over it broods the spell of a curse that has withered its fields and fettered its energies. ... Nazareth is forlorn; about that ford of Jordan where the hosts of Israel entered the Promised Land with songs of rejoicing, one finds only a squalid camp of fantastic Bedouins of the desert; ...
Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and their humiliation, have nothing about them now to remind one that they once knew the high honor of the Saviour’s presence...Renowned Jerusalem itself, the stateliest name in history, has lost all its ancient grandeur, and is become a pauper village...

Below is a partial list of verses that predict the regathering of Israel. For more passages, see the endnote.[i]
The Regathering in Isaiah
Let’s look at this passage closely:
(Is. 11:11-12 NASB) Then it will happen on that day that the Lord will again recover the second time with His hand the remnant of His people, who will remain, from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 And He will lift up a standard for the nations, and will assemble the banished ones of Israel, and will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Today, we see that there has been an exodus from these specific countries that Isaiah had predicted:

for the fourth time Perry? why you want to keep posting this?, it loses even more credibility every time you post, you realise the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979 made being an Iranian Jew very dangerous, likewise being a Jew in Egypt during the massive unrest and The Six Day War was very dangerous also, similarly the regime changes in Iraq so guess where a lot of Jews settled? yes in Israel, they also settled in Europe and the USA but you make no mention of that, another ignorant epic fail, no prophecies unfolding then at all.

How corrupt do you think they are? If so, in what ways?
I've been compiling my own list and thoughts. It's not all "paradise" at the top is my thinking.

While it may not be asked so directly, it is a huge question for discussion here.
We all have thoughts on whether the men in the governing body are victims or victimizers or both.
My personal thoughts tend toward them adjusting their thinking more in line with the way lawyers sleep at night after getting guilty clients out of prison or the way politicians adjust their thinking toward learning to say almost anything (or nothing) in order to get votes.

They learn to think that the preservation of the organization is way more important than anything else, things like kindness and full disclosure of information. This thinking allows them to manipulate, coerce, and even directly lie.

Eric Hoffer wasn't talking about the WTBTS but what he said in The True Believer points to a high control religion like the Society.
An active mass movement rejects the present and centers it's interest on the future. It is from this attitude that it derives it's strength, for it can proceed recklessly with the present- with the health, wealth and lives of it's followers. But it must act as if it has already read the book of the future to the last word. Its doctrine is proclaimed as a key to that book.

People have lost their health and many their lives because of the prohibitions on various health procedures over course of this religions life time.
They have been DF if they felt the Society was misinformed about a scripture or policy. Lost their family and friends, been shunned only to see that 'new light' is now in agreement with that DFed person except they will never be given an apology or be welcomed back.

Any organization that can't (or won't) explain where hundreds of millions of dollars go is corrupt.

Since this organization was founded upon lies and deceptions as a religoius publishing house  the lies and corruption have continued on since then, much of that involves taking information from somewhere out of context and using it to support previously constructed lies or misinformation, they even use the bible malignantly to support certain doctrines.
The WTS is a publishing house which was created by men as a means of self empowerment toward themselves by utilizing lies and deceptions to build a following and to stimulate the proliferation of the literature it published.
The money cultivation is another matter of observation..

An organization that will do or say virtually anything to survive cannot help but be corrupt.

Legally corrupt or morally corrupt? There's a difference. I think they may be brushing up against the legal line on a lot of things, I don't believe they've crossed it.
Morally, they have a lot to answer for: false prophecy, harboring child molesters, lack of financial transparency for starters.

Good question.l guess to best answer this question we need to analyse/ explore the orgs past history.l believe the governing baboons will do whatever is necessary to keep the lie alive (self preservation)lf they have to lie they will try and justify the lie to themselves. So l guess in a nut shell they do whatever it takes to survive and if it involves corruption so be it.Endemic corruption is alive and well right throughout the world and the org is no different.

Corruption results from a structure that can be manipulated, and those poor souls
are manipulated BIG time. The GB got all the power so what's left, money.
Complete power over millions of people can be very addictive and dangerous.

i ran into an older sister who has always been very sweet.. it was a friendly chat...yet she pushed for a reason why my family have been missing from meetings for some time.

the question was deflected, until it just had to be said: "well, there have been some troubling and disturbing issues about the society especially the way things were handled during the royal commission, as well as many other issues".. she quickly cut in and said "but why would you want to know these things?

its best not to research and look at those sort of things - so we don't get upset!".

during the 20th century while we had our eyes fixated on our "one-time" idol the watchtower and their false prophecies like the generation of 1914, king of the north & south flip flops, 1975, "the generation that wouldn't pass away", etc.

; a number of actual prophecies were unfolding.

we just weren't taught to look for them.

so at around the 46 min mark - the are talking to this guy from ukraine who was a zoologist.. he talks about how he was a staunch evolutionist (who wasn't able to prove evolution to himself, by the way).

then when he studied nature through the lens of evolution - he found that nature contradicted evolution.. his big point came when he said - "imagine emptying a box of letter blocks on a table, and the encyclopedia britannica appears, or could a computer program come by chance.

so who could dna come by chance.".

2016 watchtower cart campaign video... this video does not seem to be listed on jw.org, so it may not be available to rank and file jws.. .. organizational accomplishments-sail amsterdam.

.. between minutes 1:05--1:10 of this video, the watchtower plainly states that they are directing people to (jw.org) no mention of directing people to god's kingdom, or to god or even jesus christ.. .. between minutes 2:45--2:52 the statement is made that the demonstrations focus primarily on promoting (jw.org) again, no mention of god's kingdom or jesus christ.. .. it is pretty clear to see that (jw.org) has taken the drivers seat and god's kingdom and jesus christ have been placed in the back seat.. .. https://we.tl/eejg44rezq.
