They used to let bro's and sis's do the sample presentation and give them the leeway to put it in their own words thereby making it more natural. Not so anymore! These days the sample presentations are beamed from mother website.
They seem to have been written by someone who has no experience of how people talk in real life. The wording is strange and weird? If I was a householder and heard this it would be sounding major alarm bells for me. It makes the jw sound like a bizzare brain washed cult member! Seriously do the GB really think that this will help?!
And of course the householder is always so interested!! And always asks the right questions (!) Which never happens in real life either. I was looking around the hall as it was being shown and it was quite clear that not even the audience in the hall found the presentation interesting!
Does anyone else think that these presentation ideas are bizzare? I guess it's for the best in a way, the more weird a jw sounds on the doorstep the more likely the householder will be to tell the where to go.

I agree - no human being that I know talks the way that the shadows in those video presentations do.
That's what happens when people live in a compound isolated from the real world. They write stuff that has virtually no connection to reality.
Just wait until they move to Warwick later this year. WT content will seem to have been written by chatbots.

Wt is creating a two-world view. The one with wt glasses,(can someone bring them back), where the Field Service is all charm, and the reality that exists in the real world which swings from apathy to real expressed resentment on the part of the public. Nobody is in awe of the messengers. it is just awful though.

From a practically point of view - they are TOTALY worthless. They would help in no way make someone an effective teacher, in fact they do the opposite.
Can you imaging this type of thing being used in any other setting?
Imaging getting sales training like this, or being taught like this in a communications college course?
It is a total joke.

Ttdtt yes they are looking to create zombies, but these zombies will sound mad. It's quite obvious to me that the GB have no outside input on how to public speak or how to pitch ideas or how to make sales. They think they know best and that's that.
Personally if I was still going out on the service i would be cringing at the idea of using these insane presentations!

I think they have up on training JWs to convert people d2d a while ago. These presentations are simply there to reinforce to JWs how a householder with the right "heart condition" should respond so as to reinforce the feeling that JWs are preaching truth and have it right, in spite of the fact that no one in the territory takes to it. It also subconsciously tells them that if they're not getting results, it's because they didn't get the presentation right, not because the message is utterly insane.

So here is me thinking that they sound daft because of the transition from USA English to the way Brits speak in conversation...
Seems they sound strange over there too.Like you though, the publishers take it in.... then ignore them when they go out.

I don't think the presentation form the society are for the householder, I believe it's to further indoctrinate the Rank and File. It's to make them feel good about a total failure referred to as "The field ministry".

Dear sisters,
When you are fortunate enough to be in the presence of a jw penis you must take care to show the proper respect for it! Doesn't matter if said penis is prepubescent! No no! You are a lowly female and therefore must wear a head covering to show respect to the penis. All hail the mighty penis! Doesn't matter if your Bible study is going to think you are utterly nuts and a throw back to the dark ages when you get out your headscarf and wind it round your head. Showing deference to the penis is more important than not scaring off your Bible study! How happy you are dear sisters to have the opportunity to show respect to the penis of your brothers!

... Anyway that was the gist of the talk last night, I got the distinct impression that even the brother giving the talk was uncomfortable with the subject matter. None of the sisters looked happy either. I was fighting off an urge to stand up and start screaming! I wonder how many other sisters were too?

It was even heavily suggested that even when the said penis is not baptised or an unbaptised pub, that even then the sister may want to cover her head to show respect... And we all know what it means when something is heavily suggested don't we?

seriously, years ago, I had some restrictions on me for bad conduct but I wanted to help with cleaning chores at the assembly. The elder who was "captain" said that I could work in the department, but only under the immediate direction of my wife! I "humbled myself," my wife reveled in her glory, and I never volunteered again.

I was fighting off an urge to stand up and start screaming! I wonder how many other sisters were too?
Not the sister sitting in front of me. She was bobbing her head in agreement throughout the entire part, like she was trying to keep the beat to some horribly outdated music.
And we all know what it means when something is heavily suggested don't we?
The brother delivering the part in my hall is older than dirt and spent quite a bit of time on that line from the article. Oh, and he also spent 15 minutes on this part (as opposed to the 5 minutes allotted in the schedule); I wanted to beat my head against a wall.

Something I always hated even when I was a believer was that my mind, my intelligence was considered nul next to the authority of a penis in a cheap suit. The idea that a dumb window cleaner with barely no education was better than me was awful!
I wonder if the GB would ever dare to make the sisters wear head scarfs all the time when in the hall and ministry?

after working a redonkulously long number of hours exercising my fingers and brain, i decided to take a nice walk--you know, to be healthy.i walked to the drug store to get something for my staff--you know, 'cause i'm cool like that.walgreens forced me to walk down the seasonal aisle, against my will, and purchase 90% off easter candy, using its secret weapon (psychology).as i made my way home on my healthy walk, i was forced to eat what may be in the top 10 of the worst easter candy ever made in the entire multiverse since the beginning of time (and by that, i mean 7001 years ago).the first one had a layer of pink flavored goo topped with white crayolas mixed with sugar.

not satisfying.so obviously i had to have another one to satisfy myself, under extreme duress.
