Criticism of an Amazon.com review
One commenter on the book entitled "Cruel Sacrifice" by Aphrodite Jones about the murder of Shanda Sharer is a high school counselor who seems to have issues of her own. She thinks that so many teenage girls are lesbians because it is "hip" or that they are doing to "escape heterosexual domestic violent relationships". Where is her evidence to support these views? Did she ever consider that some of these girls may have always had an attraction to other females? Did she ever consider that the girls who mess around with other girls because they were abused by their boyfriends are experimenting and may not really be lesbians? She also said that regardless of sexual orientation, some of her colleagues are working on case of patricide. What does homosexuality or lesbianism have to do with patricide? There is no evidence that same-sex attraction leads to patricide which is what this dingbat is implying. She also stated that if a child comes out that the whole family should go to "counseling". I don't think that the parents should go with their gay child to "counseling". The parents should just accept their gay child for who they are. It sounds to me like this high school counselor is not without her biases or prejudices and that she should see a counselor on how to dealing with being a biased and homophobic bigot.
