Tomorrow's World

I don't think raising a child Yahweh's "way" makes you a " successful" parent. I don't think raising your child based on passages from the Torah and the Christian Bible "proves" that you are a " good " parent. Remember, Yahweh commands the in the Jewish text to stone disobedient children to death; Jesus told his followers that the man who dashes pagan children against the rocks should be happy while performing this abhorrent deed.  Jesus also commands that a person must hate their children as a parent if you want to be his disciple and that he came to divide families with his "message" with a sword by using division and not peace. The Bible is not really a " pro-family" book. It does have some positive views of families but they are minority viewpoints.  It contains many cruel prescribe ways of how to deal with children that have displeased their parents or Yahweh.

Many children raised by Christians don't turn out to be good people.  Some do, but not all. Religion plays no role in whether your child will turn out to be a good persons or not. It depends on how the parent teaches their child to behave themselves, accept personal responsibility for mistakes they make and to treat their fellow men decently, have respect for themselves and learn to think for themselves. Many Christian parents would be far too willing to shun or outright disown their children for not living a life of adherence to their parents' chosen religious beliefs that the said children were raised with.  The parent will worry about the child being cast into a lake of 'fire' ( if you are a Roman Catholic or a  member of one a mainline Protestant denominations) or being annihilated for eternity by Yahweh at the final battle of "Armageddon" ( if you are a Jehovah's Witness or a Seventh-day Adventist).

Many religious parents may no longer accept that child into their lives regardless of how good the child is if they have rejected their parents religion.  LGBT youths for instance, are often kicked out of their homes and forced to live on the streets where their only hope of surviving is to perform sexual favors for unknown strangers. LGBT youths are sometimes sent to " ex-gay therapy" institutions to " rid" themselves of their " unwanted" same-sex desires or feelings of " gender  confusion". That is actually what the parent thinks, that the child's sexuality or gender identity is something that the parent doesn't want their child to have. Sometimes the child accepts and wants to remain the sexuality or gender identity that they are. Sometimes,  LGBT youth are told that they can no longer remain a member of their " inherited" religious group if they do not live a life of romantic and sexual repression, enter a mixed-orientation " marriage" lead a life of gender dysphoria until death because of their religious texts' negative view of same-sex attraction and same-sex relationships which is viewed as an " abomination", " unnatural", " lust" an " error" and is punishable by " being put to death" and " not inheriting Yahweh's kingdom". Crossdressing is viewed as an " abomination" as well, though cross dressing is not the same as transgenderism. The Bible's views on same-sex attraction, same gendered sexual activity and cross dressing are quite wrong and have  inspired great harm towards the health and well-being of the LGBT community.  It can be stressful leaving a religious community in which you have invested so much money and time on.

Religious parents are not really better at parenting than non-religious parents. Raising your child in a religious manner is not an assurance that your child will turn out to be a moral individual.  A child should be allowed to decide their religious, spiritual or non-religious beliefs for themselves.
