I knew there was something about 1975. Thanks for the information.

Hi Winyan - I was referring to the recent theories about the fall of the Mayan civilization (from Jared Diamond's book "Collapse"). supposedly they all moved to the cities, and used up all the surrounding resources (food, water, soil fertility, trees) etc., then starvation, etc., caused the fall of the civilization including the priestcraft power keeping the kings in power. When people are starving they tend to question those in authority and beliefs that keep those people in authority.
I just thought maybe that was what you were referring to by your comment. Sorry I wasn't clear. Maybe I still am not clear?
Ah... I was referring to what some who have been studying the Maya calendar have been saying about the predictions. In short, it's that the world won't end, it's the end of an earth cycle and the beginning of one in which we will just experience it in a different form. And in order to survive, we need to have sources of clean food and water, and develop different ideals for our civilzation.
Actually, if what is written in the book you cited is correct, it coincides with this information. If their original civilization was starved out, then more than ever now, in this particular cycle of time, we need to be concerned about feeding people. The price of groceries is doubling and sometimes tripling right now, with worldwide shortages of very staple foods like rice. We're hearing about tests done that have discovered jet fuel in our food and drinking water all over the US.
It's not a message of doom and gloom. It's a message of how to survive.

Yes Winyan, it appears the Mayans had the one true religion on the face of the earth, and we have apostatized from it - tsk tsk.
