Personally, I have never been interested in those "change your life books". As for becoming a Christian minister who provides "counseling", no way would I go to see one of those. Many Christians counselors are manipulative and scam artists.  I've known people and have hear many stories of people who come out more screwed up when dealing with a Christian "counselor" than when they weren't involved with one. Usually, when you engage in some behavior that the Christian counselor or denominational leader seems as "sinful", you are told to pray more, read your Bible more and attend church more frequently. To me, that's like telling an alcoholic to keep consuming wine and beer to deal with their mental frustrations.  I'd prefer a secular counselor or at least a counselor who doesn't involve their religious or spiritual views in their work profession.
