Weed smoking woman on Judge Mathis threatens her friend with divine punishment

Dear Readers,

Today, I was watching an episode of Judge Mathis where a woman who is a drunk much of the time and smoked week, even though it was illegal where she lives, she threatened her friend who had been living with her with divine punishment from " the most high God", which I presume is Yahweh as I'm guessing that she was Christian if her friend did not pay her rent. Judge Mathis asked her if her religion expects her to gain converts. They were African-American women, so am I. Well, I am half African-American and most black women are religious, specifically Christian. I think she said yes in response to her religion wanting converts. The friend said the woman tried to attack her for saying  "Jesus". She told Mathis that if he said it, that she would probably attack him. He said "Jesus" and nothing happened as I expected. The friend was saying that the woman didn't believe in Jesus and blah, blah, blah. Judge Mathis told the woman that threating people with punishment is not a way to get converts. I agree.  Even if your religion expects you to get converts, people don't have to join your religion if they disagree with it, disagreeing with the beliefs and practices of a religion is not "persecution". Leaving any religious group is also an example of religious freedom. The next case had a woman dealing with her unruly son who didn't the fact that she was dating a much younger man who was only a few years older than her kid.

Judge Mathis' said something that I didn't quite hear about a church-going momma.  Well, just because your momma goes to church, that doesn't necessarily mean that that makes her a good parent. Judge Mathis' makes a lot of religious references on his show and I feel that is somewhat inappropriate in a secular court of law. Judge Mathis is open-minded it seems, but I still think his religious remarks in a secular court is not appropriate. That is probably why the show airs on Fox News, as everyone knows that Fox News is a conservative television station filled with Christian fundamentalists like Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck ( a fundamentalist Orthodox Mormon). So, that's probably why Judge Mathis airs on Fox, because of the religious references.

Sincerely,

B.W.
