Hi everyone, I've just discovered this friday that my page on pedophilia amongst the Jehovah's Witnesses has been censored in google search results :

https://www.watchtowerlies.com/pedophilia_amongst_the_jehovah_s_witnesses.html
Strangely, these last days/weeks it ranked no 1 on the first page on google.com when you searched "Jehovah's witnesses pedophilia". And now it is nowhere. It is a clear command from the Watchtower headquarters.

Similarly, in 2011, I advertised on my site www.watchtowerlies.com that I was organizing a protest at the Quebec city's summer convention in Canada, and one day after google Adsense sent my an email saying they were stopping the ads on my site because of the same page on pedophilia....Another command from the watchtower.

Lol! Yalbmert99. Welcome to the wonderful and wacky world of internet censorship.
Have you not heard of 'shadow's and broken links yet?
And then there is the nasty little practise of shutting down the posts and pages that 'aren't acceptable' to those in power by attaching malware and such - hell, I even have pages, on this very forum, from a few years back that are 'red-screened' - you can't even access them anymore.
It happens regularly when you post stuff that the Society and other power agencies don't like.
Stick around - it happens lots.
You just have to keep posting and hope to hell it gets read by a few before the 'internet police' stomp on it.
*your website isn't 'nowhere' with those search terms...it is on the second page of search results. Maybe you can move your ranking up with better and more tagging terms - not sure if that is the right terminology - it has been a few years since I did web design...but ranking is dependent upon other factors besides content. Someone who knows more about this could probably help you to make your website more visible on google searches...I don't think you have been censored - I didn't have any problem finding it

Hey there 99 .... haven't seen you for a while! Welcome back and thanks for the tip ...................
Like Dianne ... I've noticed bits and pieces go missing or links are taken out and replaced with the more recent jw . org link! The jdubs were against worldly technology and were warned to steer clear of it for fear of being lured further into the world by Satan and his trust henchmen .......... and then the hierarchy realised what a useful tool the internet can be! Now there's jw . org .............. multiple bookface pages where truckloads of photos taken before, during and after meetings, conventions ... even memorial services! Tut tut .......taking a tablet or phone into a meeting? What are they thinking!!!!!
As Dianne has pointed out ...... keep posting. If they can come up with dozens of ways to track down and censor anti-jdub stuff ..... I'm sure we can flood the net over and over again and give them a run for their money!!!!!

True, Andria, what a waste it would be.
There seems to be constant conflict between some end that is near (no need to do anything or learn anything) and the need to gather more sheep to the flock (must do things).

Last night, watching the news, I jokingly said to my hasn't-got-a-clue-about-jw husband, that the jw are right, Armageddon is around the corner.  He collapsed laughing.
And then he said, humans have a remarkable skill to fix things after breaking them.  No Armageddon so.  Thought I'd let you know. smiley: roll

Hoohoo, Punkofnice
True.  Had a very weather-related Armageddon-esque episode this morning (it passed, though).
Rode the bike to the doctor surgery, because weather report said it will be dry today.
Got drenched on way back.
Does that count on the Armageddon scale?

Ceili ... Ceili ... Ceili ..... you go girl! You've got a good grip on the long lost Armageddon .... we are SO proud of you!!!!!
I can just see your sister putting her head between her legs and ready to kiss her ass goodbye Lin! We don't have a warning system like that in our town but we have lived in smaller towns when the sirens have gone off ... usually a bushfire alert and a quick way to get all the local firefighters together. I still have residual (very minute these days) split second shudders when I hear a storm is coming ... or a particularly loud noise scares me. D'oh!
Now ...... back to the Big A .............................................. not this Wednesday night as we have The Rolling Stones concert on! Can't wait for that.

What's your favorite Rolling Stones song? I hope you have time to answer. It's very stormy in our area today. So the big A might wipe us out tonight.

I tried responding to someone about our precious children but not sure where the post ended up.

Anyhow, we do have a responsibility to our innocents that the church's think they need being baptized at such an early age.  I'm totally against such.

And  then when we hear the stories of pedophiles it only gets worse.

Good Morning, Cacky.

Fence-rider continues telling me that if I go back to the JW church and tell them how young I was and didn't understand the rules of the church...I can be reinstated.  I've told her it no longer matters because I don't like her church after so many years of research and know they don't hold the Truth.

And so life is interesting, eh.

You've been post-napped eh Lin! It happened to me the other day .... nice long post and whooooop ... gone in a second!
I am also heartily and quite openly vocal about baptising young children ... regardless of what religion. Which is odd given I'm a Godmother to one of my friend's (now adult) kids! But there you go ... I was feeling rebellious at the time and hadn't quite hit the 'I'm an atheist' button back then! Children shouldn't be indoctrinated ... plain and simple. Mine aren't. Sure ... tell kids that religion is out there and do the old 'some people want or need religion ... some people don't want it or need it ... and the rest have yet to make up their minds' trick ..... but to make them follow their parents religion ... nup. Not on.
Your poor sister really has been bitten by 'the truth' bug hasn't she Lin! You had a great answer .... there's no disputing where your feelings lay!

Good Morningsmiley: smokin.

Thanks for the affirmation that I handled that conversation in a mature manner - because I'm not always nicesmiley: indifferent

The other evening when the three of us were having a nice meal and conversation came up over [non-religion], fence-rider just wants to argue with what someone else says if she disagrees.  Believe,me, she is a shit-stirrer and yet thinks she does it out of love, right!

I simply stood up and told her I was no longer a part of this conversation and she instantly slammed me with, "Your angry."  Well, I wasn't until she wanted to tell me how I was feeling.  Control!
I told her I was not angry and to stop putting words into other peoples mouth and stop trying to analyze every word someone sayssmiley: mad.

I'm just not playing by her rules...and hopefully she is learning that.

I appreciate that she is my oldest sibling that was always there for the rest of us.  Because we are all adults now, make our own decisions, her input is not always necessary because she is no longer the caretaker.
And, we accept personal responsibility for our actions.

I also understand it's not easy for when one begins questioning the Borg- even at an older age, so I'm learning some patience with personal boundaries.

It's downright scary to be in the autumn years of your life and questions about your religious faith start surfacing Lin! It's bad at any age but I think if someone has been in for so long ... like your sister ... it must be that tug-of-war feeling of knowing things aren't quite right and yet having that well indoctrinated feeling of guilt and fear slowly but surely surfacing!
You just keep your cool ... remind your sister you're no longer 12 and have the right to live life the way YOU see fit AND that you also have to right to agree to disagree .... and perhaps your sister will realise that her over the top comments are not upsetting you at all! She must be very scared of so many things. I know my mum and dad were always too scared to live and too scared to die. Mind you ... I have to say that since my mum's death a couple of weeks back ..... it's like my dad has come alive in so many ways! He believes the religion is 'the truth' ..... but he is so very very angry with the way 'the brothers' (mainly the local elders) have interpreted and re-interpreted biblical references to the point they no longer resemble biblical references! At the moment ... he wants nothing to do with any of them ....... and two of my siblings and I couldn't be happier!
Stay calm Lin .... you're doing an amazing job!!!

Missy Rhonda, Good Morningsmiley: wink

I'm glad hearing that your dad is questioning things re: that filthy religion.  While on the one hand it perhaps helped but because of how that religion works; it has done so much damage to those with a loving heart that continue believing they are the only one with the "Truth".

I'm still working through some stuff with fence-rider because she started in on me again yesterday with her judgment towards me over some stupid word.  When things settled down, I asked her how she can profess representing the "True Religion" when she is full of hate and doesn't understand the [Christ Principle] of Forgiveness?

After years of research into that religion...and I totally don't believe in organized religion...fence-rider doesn't want to hear what I've learned because she is all knowing about scripturesmiley: laugh and yet she feels fit [spiritually] for telling others how to live their life?

We discussed resentment, anger, forgiveness.  Although we're not all "Christian", where do those that profess being such show an example of how to practice such according to our culture of, "In God We Trust."?

Not wanting to lose a post and waiting for sister to wake up and make the drive back to AZ...I'm just starting oversmiley: happy

What I'm learning:  It's a struggle for all of us.  At the same time I'm not going to be visiting that much with fence-rider when she returns back to Colorado and has her own home.

I'm also learning that with her age and health, I had promised to help look out after her.  It's good she will be living across the street and we've done all we can for helping her get there.

Apparently it's now time for her Jehovah to start helping because that's what she believes...does she forget that it was an effort for others to help and yet it's all because of Jehovah?

I know how to play that game...I don't want doing such but did remind her that "All your prayers have been answered." and so what's the problem now?

Thank ya'll for being here for me!  It's not been an easy week with a niece dying and we lost our one cat...LIN.

Your poor sister. I know my mum went through a stage of saying that Jehovah would help. She also believed that Jehovah's people would help. They didn't. She never really admitted that she felt let down by them ... but I know my dad feels dreadfully let down.
Sorry for your double loss there too Lin. Your niece and one of your furry friends too .... what a week for you! ((( hugs )))

Missy Rhonda, I do appreciate that you respond to my postings because it's been extremely stressful.  Not that you haven't had your share of stress - so I'm not spending much time on the pity-pot, just sharing.

When fence-rider called today asking how her dog was doing and I asked her if she still planned for going and talking with her JW Elder friend because of her association with me, the answer was NO.

We know that it takes years for some to come to grips with the hate that religion teaches.  It's taken years of research and that's why many of us continue association here because we find support from those that understand the struggle.

When I got serious about research it was because I had read Ray Franz COC.  That was an eye-opener and from there I started reading about other religions that did the same.

My other JW sibling that lives in the same town would tell all her co-workers [Post Office] not to give out her home address/phone number to me because she didn't want anything to do with me.  I finally got fed up with that bullshit and told my JW elder BIL that lives in AZ; that next time Wanda accuses me of something I've not done and yet she speaks so hateful about me, it's going to be legal time because I'm not playing by her game either.

Actually, she should not have been talking religion at her job...and most others don't like her.  Really?  Is that because she thinks she can spin the JW religion while at work?  Of course she thinks she can!  They were all happy when she retired.

After this long winded story of life with JW siblings:  I just don't give a hoot about their Jehovah God.

I'm sorry that your mother didn't get it...and am grateful your dad is now questioning because it's not an easy battle but hopefully he'll find some peace too.  Love, Lin

Found it Dianne!
image
He is an incredibly cute and very young little man. His mother doesn't say how old her boy is. If the boy's parents whinge about this being in here ... they only have themselves to blame. It's on bookface in the 'Stay Awake, Stand Firm, Grow Mighty' community page. All images posted have the name of the group and then the poster adds their name afterward. As at today's date ... 2971 people ticked the 'like box ... with 235 'shares'. Obviously they don't look at this the same way I do.
This little man's mother added this comment to the photo .....

This recent picture you posted of Grayden from Ohio in 2014 and my father-in-law in 1941 at the age of 2. Notice he has the same bag, 5 cents per copy. My father-in-law lost his battle with melanoma on May 8 of this year but he was a faithful elder at the time of his death, witnessing until the very end. (Candy)

Some of the comments ....... feel free to pop in there for a look .....

Paul D Noble
If you think about it, these photos actually represent 4 generation of witnesses, At two years old your father in law must have had parents in the truth. You and the young boy represent two more generations. What a wonderful thing.

So NOT a 'wonderful thing' to indoctrinate four generations of people! The little ones in the two images were never given the option of whether they wanted to have their cuteness used to suck everyday folk into a religion that is incredibly damaging and life altering. Not a wonderful thing at all Mr Noble! But of course anyone saying anything negative would have their comment deleted and the rest would claim persecution rights!
I'm sure the next poster was being genuine ... but really?

 Brandon Benjamin
He would love this photo when he sees it in the new system

There are heaps more ... all gushing, oohing and ahhing over the cute little boy and the faithful elder who died ....................... this one is typical of the mentality they've all been indoctrinated and inculcated to have ...

Arlene Phelps
This what can happen to all children who have stayed faithful to Jehovah & his purpose for mankind. Also, kept preaching the good news of the kingdom. I've been among those of the great crowd since 1949. Living so close to the New World is very exciting to me and all those represent Jehovah at this time of the end. Agape' to all of my Witness Family

Poor woman. I feel sad for her. She's been 'among those of the great crowd since 1949'. Doesn't say how old she is ... but that was 65 years ago. Not two or three. And her 'living so close to the New World is very exciting to me ...' is doubly sad. She obviously hasn't understood the definition of 'living so close'. When I say that I'm 'living so close' to my neighbours ... it's means they are right next door ..... not 65 kilometres away!
It's NOTE cute. The little boy is being used as a marketing ploy and no-one in that lovely little online community will see that. Instead they would read my post ...... and believe the end of the world is even closer, because my words would be taken as persecution. A sign of the end. *deep sigh*

But they thought 'the end' was so close in the 1940's...1950's...1960's....surely the 1970's...80's, 90's, after 911, 2010, 2012....
How do they not see what they write!!! Talk about cognitive dissonance!!!

That actually is a cute photo, Andria - if a person didn't know the history of it. That little boy's grandfather would have been one of the "Children of the King" that had been promised so much and got nothing.

I agree that it's a cute photo too Dianne ... for the people who don't know that insidious side of the WBTS. You can see by the two images you added ... why parents would fall for the jdub religious hype ..... it has that 'whole family' vibe about it, which would be attractive to those wanting what's best for their kids. I've never been one for using kids to promote anything ... be it religion or save the whales. I put that down to never having a choice about my own indoctrination. I don't hate my parents for that however I do blame 'the society' as they like to call themselves.

I have learned to have much respect for those of us that will actually help others with talking about that filthy religion known as Jehovah's Witnesses.

I've had my own experiences and listen to many others.  Some of you remember me when I first joined; and we've seen many others come and go.

Ronnie has done a wonderful job for helping us just as the mods do too.

I think my lesson today will  be gratitude for having had the courage to move forward despite the family.

Another story:  Our dear beloved neighbors, aged into their late 70's buried a son years ago that committed suicide.  They found his body.

This year they have another son that is dying from cancer and they've been there every step of the way...I cannot even imagine burying two children but they stay focused on the good things.

They will be celebrating their 58th anniversary next month and apparently been through more than I would never want dealing with.  They are some of the most kind- heart persons I know.

The doctors told him that he has three to six months. It looks kind of to me like it's going to be three, the way things are going.
I'm so sorry (((Cathy)))

It's funny how much of a shock it was to hear the doctors said that, when I knew it was going to be the case.

I know how you feel. For several years now I have suspected that my daughter Karen has dyslexia. Even though I had a big huge hunch I was right, when I got the actual diagnosis, I still felt like someone had punched me in my gut. I guess even though you have a feeling of what what's going to happen, having the experts tell you it's REALLY going to happen, makes it real.  And maybe, a tiny part of me was hoping I was wrong, that there wasn't anything wrong with her, so to have it confirmed by someone else, means I can't ignore it anymore.  I have to deal with it, whether I like it or not.
I had to give myself a few days to "grieve", so now you need to give yourself that as well.

Thanks again, Linda and Palmel. We're starting a campaign in our family, asking all the aunts and cousins to send him cards. There are 23 cousins and several aunts left, only two uncles. We think that will cheer him up to have his mailbox full. It was my sister's idea. I'm going out today to find a suitable card for him. Out of all of those cousins, and including their spouses, my brother will be the first of us to go.

Hello, I'm very new here and well I need to know some specifics on what to expect to happen and how I can cope since I'm pretty sure I'm going to be coping alone.

My boyfriend of 2+ years and I found out last week that we're expecting. This was a major shock to me (my bf had a vasectomy). He said he'd always love me and support any decision I made. Fast forward a week and it's clear the only decision he's supporting is abortion.
Heres our background: I'm 25, he's 27, he's a witness, I am not but I have been studying for over a year with his mother. He has already been disfellowshipped in the past for admitting to premarital sex when he was a teenager. Now he's afraid he will be permanently asked to leave.
I'm trying to be understanding but it's feeling like I have to care first and foremost about him and his consequences instead of how we can solve this. He's adamant I get an abortion and I don't believe in that especially after studying. He says I'm only making life harder for us and forcing him to lose his family (only his mom is a witness). His sister had 2 kids out of wedlock and his mother still speaks to her and raises her kids even though she was disfellowshipped so I don't understand his fear.
I've felt like this whole relationship has been about making sure other witnesses don't see us together, that we definitely stay away from the elders and that I study faster to get baptized faster.
Sorry for the length but his ultimatum seems to be have an abortion or il leave you. I don't know what to do but I feel my world slowly crumbling. Anything positive would be appreciated, thx

Hello mouse, to begin with, to my knowledge vasectomies are not allowed by JWs and would also be grounds for disfellowshipping (unless that has been changed). Since you are pregnant he may have lied to you. Although very rare, pregnancies can still happen. By your description the whole family does not seem like a very serious JW family. It sounds to me like your bf has been taking advantage of you--keeping the whole thing secret--and now the abortion. (BTW abortion is also a disfellowshipping offence.) I am sorry you have to go through this and I am also sorry that I have very little positive news for you.  But for sure do not get baptized. You will end up disfellowshipped sooner than you dry yourself.
Try to search out agencies in your town who may be able to help you. But I do not see any future with your bf with the kind of insensitive, unkind and selfish attitude he has towards you. I hope others here will be able to give you some more helpful advice.

I agree with Goingforth. He is being very selfish. They won't put him out permanently, they'll just df him and he can always get reinstated. They don't sound like serious jws with him carrying on with you on the side. You are going to have to decide what's best for you, not him. You need to have respect for yourself and worry about yourself, not him. On the side note, vasectomies are allowed by jws. My husband had one and I know of others who did, and they publicized it. Take some time to consider yourself and your future and what you want in life. It sounds like he's not going to be there for you, so you will have to accept that. I'd tell his mom about the baby and see what she thinks, and plan your life for yourself.

Hi Mouse,

Sorry to hear of your situation. There are a few alarm bells ringing for me, after reading your note. First off, you are both studying the Watchtower with your boyfriend's  JW family, and also carrying on a (premarital) sexual relationship with him. That, in itself is a sign that he is insincere about his faith, or you, or both. If he is asking you to have an abortion, then he is definitely not a believer in the JW faith, as that is viewed as murder to them.  (Their view, not mine)

Then the claim that he has had a vasectomy… this is very uncommon for a man who is so young. Medical practitioners in my area will refuse the procedure for young unmarried men, unless a psychiatric review is performed. Do you have proof of this, or is it just something he has told you?  I tried to get one in my 20's and was refused. I did  have a vasectomy later in life, and there is little chance of failure. There is a post op review to check efficacy...

I gather from your note that he is asking you to 1) Join his mother's religion. 2) have sex with him, against the teachings of his mother's religion. 3) pretend not to know him when the leader's of his mother's religion are about. 4) have an abortion, which is also against his mother's religion) ...So my take is that he wants you to "appear" to join his mother's religion, which he does not believe in. Forcing you to accept his mother's faith-construct as a condition of the relationship is a convenience for him, but I don't think it will prove to be beneficial for you!

Be strong. Take care of yourself first.

He says I'm only making life harder for us and forcing him to lose his family

You didn't force him to do anything. You didn't force him to have sex.  You aren't forcing him to choose his religion over you.  You aren't forcing him to choose his family over you.  He is the one who is making those choices, not you!  And, like the others pointed out, an abortion is at least as big of an offence by jw rules as premarital sex, so if found out, he'll be df'd anyway.

The fact is that you have an important decision to make for yourself.  Taking your partner into consideration is one thing, being pressured into it is another.  Your body, your choice.

Welcome, by the way. smiley: smile  We are more than happy to answer any questions you have, not just about the jw's.  I have two kids and trained to be a Doula, so I can answer just about any pregnancy question you might have.  Or baby question.  I don't know much about abortion, but I do believe in a woman's right to decide what happens to her body.

Hello Mouse and welcome to the forum. I too agree that your BF is a selfish unbeliever. If you feel that an abortion would be murder (I do) then you have to consider what you will be doing for yourself and child (unless you opt for adoption). There are pro's and con's for each option which you will have to make decisions about...on your own. I also agree that you should tell his mother and ask for her advise. It would/will be her grandchild. I would want to know. Anyway, she sounds like a caring person (raising her other grand children) and will probably give you more to think about.
Just so you know you have our support here. You aren't dealing alone. :)

Okay, RUN AWAY FROM HIM. ....Luctus is right, doctors do not normally give young men vasectomy's and abortion is the JW religion is nothing less then murder, they would never ever be okay with that. If you want to have peace in your life,, sorry to say, you need to cut him off and maybe get closer to your own family. But keep coming back here, this is going to be a rough time for you.

Hi Mouse,
I'm concerned he's immature at best. He has to acknowledge this situation and the decision of what to do, isn't all about him. If he's not at all concerned about you and how you will go forward, I question whether he will be there for you in the future anyway.
I believe you need to examine how you feel and be true to yourself in whatever your decision is about your pregnancy.

Hi there Mouse and welcome.
Mouse ... you seem far more concerned about your relationship with your boyfriend than he is! That is very sad. And he has put you in a dreadfully vulnerable position too.
Unless you can actually see the tiny scars from the vasectomy or read a certificate showing a negative result for sperm in his semen ... then your boyfriend's assertion that he's had a vasectomy may be another one of his little tales. Tim is right (Locutus) ....... the majority of medical professionals the world over would be loathe to give a young man a vasectomy ... especially a young single man. My husband had his vasectomy down when he was 29 ... but that was after a lengthy conversation with our lovely GP and because we already had two children and I was 40 at the time.
I am a pro-choice when it comes to women and their rights. When it comes to a pregnancy ... unwanted or not ... I believe women have the right to do what they believe is right for them ... so what you decide to do should be what YOU decide to do. Your boyfriend is behaving in an exceptionally selfish way and should be ashamed for trying to pressure you into aborting your baby. To give you an ultimatum ... veiled ultimatum or not ... is disgusting.
I get the impression he's quite an immature person for his age and his ultimatum may be more about him not wanting the responsibility of a child rather than him being worried about his not-so-precious religion. He's been skating on thin ice from the outset with you and he knows from past experience, that his religion does not approve of nor allow sex outside of the marriage bed. He has got you studying his religion for what purpose? If he was a true Jehovah's Witness ... he would not be sleeping with you, he would certainly not be pressuring you to have an abortion ... and he wouldn't be pressuring you into baptism either.
My suggestion would be to sit down with someone you really trust (a friend or counsellor) and talk things through. Being pregnant, your emotions will be all over the place and more so given the ultimatum your boyfriend has so conveniently and callously thrown your way. Don't make any rash decisions and trust your instincts. Think seriously about the studying thing too ....... if your boyfriend is so mixed up, imagine what could happen to you ... or your child!
Just remember to breath Mouse ...... we're here for you. ((( hugs )))

Hi Mouse:
Hello and welcome.
I'm afraid I agree with everyone else.  Your boyfriend appears to have been dishonest with you from the beginning.  No true Witness would rather have you have an abortion.  I personally believe in freedom of choice -- and when I say choice I mean you get to choose whether to keep the baby, give it up for adoption or have an abortion.  Your boyfriend is manipulating you, and I fear that this is what you have to look forward to if you stay with him.
It would be a good idea to go talk to someone you can trust -- which would not include your boyfriend or his mother.  In addition, do not let him give you an ultimatum.  Tell him that he is going contrary to everything that his religion teaches, and he has no right to impose any of that on you.  If he leaves, so be it, but if you decide to keep the baby and raise it, make sure you retain an attorney so that he pays the child support you will certainly be due.  He is not allowed to just walk away because he lied about having a vasectomy and got you pregnant.
Please, if there is anything we can do to help you, please let us know.  I personally would like to smack the boy, but that's just me.  ;-)

Take care of yourself.

Dear Mouse.
I just want you to know that I'm thinking of you.
An unexpected pregnancy can put a woman into a strange head space. There is the initial shock and confusion. Thoughts can be mixed up between envisioning how you will cope and be as a mother. What you will teach this new life that is reliant on you. What lessons you want to pass on. Almost seeing their face and hearing their laugh.
And then there are the thoughts of. How it will affect your life. How things will become more difficult. How you may not be ready, Emotionally, financially etc..
It's a confusing time and lonely. But when you find out the father's expectations are rejection. Without even considering how such a thing will affect you in the long term. Well it can send anyone onto a spiral of fear, loneliness, hurt and anger.
I'm sorry if these are the things you are going through. I really hope you have people in your life you can lean on at this time. Just know that we are here for you. And you can Google unplanned Pregnancy and links should come up for counselling services in your area.
Wishing you all the best. ((((HUGS Mouse)))

(Grandma Cee Cee's eyes go all beady-like.) Let me get this straight...
 1. Your unmarried 27 year old JW BF, is not worried about being disfellowshipped for living with you and regularly having sex with you?
 2. Your unmarried 27 year old JW BF, is not concerned about being disfellowsipped for murdering (that's what the WTBTS considers abortion), this child?
 2. Your unmarried 27 year old JW BF who has never fathered a child has actually gone through a vascectomy? [How many single men do that?]
 3. Your JW boyfriend is pressuring you to kill your unborn child so HE can be free from the consequences of a behavior he obviously has every intention of continuing?
Something's missing here. [Lack of character comes to mind.] He's lying. Why?
 Let us know.
 Hugs, Grandma Cee Cee

OMGoodness..Do whatever you need doing.  Our love and support is with you.  thank you my love for finding us with different opinions.  That's the joy you can find in life for people who don't want telling you how to live life.

It's about how we share our own personal experiences.

When DIL was pregnant with the youngest....I had suggested an abortion because at that time my son was on drugs.  As I type, this beautiful young lady is my heart's joy.

You know my son and his wife are not legally married, according to the politics.  They have a wonderful family and things did change for the positive because they wanted a family unit.

I've heard many stories of those that didn't want making a change in their life and mama' would be in the middle of something that was none of her business but she would always be there for her baby that was the misfit.

It's time for your boyfriend to grow up and accept responsibly or else get his precious PENIS ....cut off and he wont' be able to do this again!smiley: mad

I left the WTS so slowly that my friends recognized that I was no longer a JW before I recognized it. Even at that though, I would still defend them if someone was badmouthing them. Today is a whole different story now. I think the worst things they do are shunning, refusing to bring molesters to the attention of the police and protecting abusers, the blood issue, and probably a couple of things I can't think of. Here's one, interfering in a good marriage.
As for the religious stuff, no biggie to me. Most religions teach that they have the way to Salvation. I just don't care about a person's personal beliefs, as long as they aren't destroying family and friends in the name of that religion.

I'd guess because they still think they are the chosen because "Jehovah" is their God.

Confirmation Bias! In the end we all believe what we want to believe because it sits well with us or that which we are too afraid to question. The WBT$ ensures through logical fallacies, propaganda and guilt tripping that they must NOT be questioned. The Governing Body has too much to lose if they allowed questioning so they use thought reform to ensure obedience even to the endangerment of life. Yup! Good old 'confirmation bias'.

Just remember. Neither The Watchtower(TM) nor the elders(TM) nor anyone in the 'truth'(TM) have any authority over you. Once you accept this you're well on your way to living!

I wish to see the Governing Body of Jehovah's witnesses(R) put on trial for crimes against humanity and face absolute justice. Why? Consider the un-Biblical an dangerous 'Blood doctrine', Shunning and the protection of paedophiles and you may see why I feel this way.

Punkie! How nice to see you posting on this particular forum smiley: smile  You know I love reading what you share.

"Confirmation bias" is a new term for me to learn about but I do understand what you say about the Borg in general.  The "Society" is never to be questioned...or pay the high price of losing family and friends.

"Fence-rider" has asked me to please stop calling her that and tell ya'll she is 'sacrificing' for sake of family...gain some, lose some.  It's been an interesting journey into recovery with her staying with us because we each believe in what we want to believe for different reasons.  I'm just not into her concept of god/higher power.

Hi Lin. JWs have no option but to feel superior because if they admit others may have a valid point is the moment they begin to question their faith. Once that happens.....oh, myyyyyy

Hi Paul.

Thank you for responding to my posting.  It's been a struggle but I think we are making progress for helping my sister realize her beloved society is not what it's cracked up to be.

I often tell her of what I've read from others in different parts of the world that are/were JW's and she finds it interesting - while still putting the JW spin to anything I say.

We are least to the point where we can discuss certain issues and not argue.  Sometimes, because when she starts her rhetoric of Jehovah and all I need do is this or that, I simply walk away because I'm not going to listen to it.

"Fence-rider" is in a major transition...it's not easy for any of us. Thanks for your support.  Love, Lin

I really don't have a problem with people's personal religious views unless it hurts people like Jws do. They aren't like james jones, but they are still fanatical.

Info from this thread here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/281836/1/I-know-2-of-the-Elders-on-the-Ray-Franz-JC#.U9ACz_ldUS5

When I read COC, I was stunned that the 2 Elders (Theotis French & Rob Dibble) were on Ray Franz Judcial Committee. I have known these men for over 20 years having done RBC and Convention work with them. They are still Elders today which means they were in their early 30's(which is unheard of for a case of this importance to have inexperienced Elders to sit on) on this committee.
Without revealing myself, I have never tried(but have wanted to), ask them about their on having to judge a former GB member.
Then out of the blue, about a year ago, I was mentioning how hard it is trying to get younger ones to volunteer to one of these Elders, and he says"This is nothing compared to to sitting on the committee that had to disfellowship Ray Franz". I said "What could be so hard about that? Cut and Dry right?". He said: "WE WERE DIRECTED BY THE SOCIETY HOW TO DISFELLOWSHIP HIM!".
Then he continued on: "Ray was a nice Brother, well spoken of and he used the scriptures effectively to defend his position. There was nothing in our Sheperding Books that said that if anyone shares a meal with a DF or DA person, they too should be DF". " But the SOCIETY said use 1COR. 5:11, and do not try to explain it to him, he will just try to confuse you like all those who turn against the TRUTH!" I responded:" When you are a company man, you must listen to mama".

Indeed this is important information about the workings of the Watchtower org and completely in line with its policy of "do as we say and not do as we do". Arrogant deluded and blind leaders that they are.

I've been over this before.
Short version: I was quite the little super salesman when it came to getting people to do home Bible studies, but when Memorial time came around all my students "partook".
I wasn't really in conscious rebellion against the organization, I just didn't do it right by their standards.

Looking back , ‘partaking’ was a good move on their part don’t you think?

I suppose so, but I bounced around various other Adventist groups for years before finally getting out of the whole disordered way of thinking.

Because 'Fence-rider" is staying with us for a few more weeks and we discuss religion - she told me our other sibling [JW] that lives here has regret for every telling me about Ray Franz.  That's what started me on my journey ...

Although many of us don't follow any religion - we have a sense of spiritually, do our research and I'll never accept the WTBTS as holding true to anything good.  Those that sit in New York are total control freaks that, like most, are simply interested in money at the expense of others.  smiley: mad  Damn, I'm getting pissed!smiley: mad

At the same time, although we all deal with them in one way or another, they will not destroy my happiness today.  So, have a good day for however you choose using it.  I''m gearing up for having fun with Halloween,, knowing they no longer control how I celebrate my life.

Thank goodness for anyone that has suffered in the name of religion and yet they could find freedom from the Borg.  We will never forget those that sacrificed for helping others escape.

Author,
It's absolutely amazing how when doing research we can learn more truth about the "Truth" that they want keep hidden.  Although I may not see it in my lifetime, perhaps with them being exposed for the liars they are, it might help future generations.

Although this issue has apparently been fixed, the inspection was just for the Watchtower Dental practise for the Bethel members provided by the UK Bethel at Mill Hill.
It seems their lack of a child protection strategy and reporting proceedures for potential vulnerable adults or abused spouses permeates the organisation, with staff having no idea how to report suspected abuse when patients enter the dentist.

We checked that people who use this service
Are protected from abuse, or the risk of abuse, and their human rights are respected and upheld.
The provider did not have a safeguarding children and vulnerable adults policy and staff were unaware of local safeguarding arrangements. This meant that people who used the service were not safeguarded against the risk of abuse because the provider had not made suitable arrangements to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent it before it occurred and respond appropriately to any allegation of abuse. Regulation 11(1)(a)(b)
 ......
For example, the provider did not have a safeguarding policy for children and vulnerable adults or procedures for reporting safeguarding concerns. The dentist we spoke with had received safeguarding training in relation to their paid role and was able to recall a generic procedure for reporting concerns but paid staff were unaware of local safeguarding arrangements. In addition, not all permanent staff had received safeguarding training and the provider was unable to provide contact details for the local authority safeguarding team. This meant that there was a risk that staff were unaware of safeguarding issues and/or how to respond appropriately to any allegation of abuse.

Apparently they have now fixed this within the dental department, but it seems the org has no clear strategy to prevent child abuse at all within its ranks. If it can't get its head around the local dentistry regulations and staff training, how on earth are elders in local congregations meant to be trained to report abuse?
It just seems they are very complacent, and surely Gods organisation does not need to be reminded by  secular authorities  again and again to increase its child abuse safeguards! They really should be way ahead of the pack if they really are Gods organisation on earth.

Nevermind ... why doesn't this surprise me? D'oh!
On the subject of preventing child abuse ... the average jdub I've spoken to in the past, has said the same thing when it comes to Australia's requirement for people working with or volunteering with children to apply for Working with Children Cards. They don't have to. Apparently Jehovah's Witnesses worship 'as a family' and therefore children are not left on their own with non-family members. Given family members and friends are often the leaders when it comes to child abusers ..... it seems superior and highly narcissistic for the average jdub NOT to apply for a card. I know when I was young ... I wouldn't always be with one or both of my parents. Child abuse happens ... and complacency within the framework of the average jdub hall will only make it easier for paedophiles to target and abuse their victims.

shortly before I was out, I had recently gotten a lady to study with a "sister" in her area and although I did not study with her myself I had kept up with her as I saw her monthly. She was just at the point of baptism and she found out I was disfellwoshipped. I visited her and she said that when she learned I was disfellowshipped she went right down to the Presbytrian church and got baptized She said the JW's were a religion of gloom and misery or something like that maybe it was the most miserable religion ever. I felt bad at the time but I don't think it was totally my fault maybe she saw the "sucking the happiness out of you" thing.

That lady did the right thing! Perhaps someone told her to steer clear of you and she couldn't understand nor justify taking that action. Shunning is a despicable thing to do ... to anyone.

And so the battle continuessmiley: mad

When doing your research and only you can decide what battle to fight within the system...always remember the Borg has no intention of losing and they have all the protection under any law from any country.

Child abuse, spousal abuse, pedophile etc...when religion is protected by the now current laws and to hell with what the victim can testify to...it's an uphill battle.

BTW, welcome to our most loving site of people that understand the struggle.  Take Care, Lin

I quite agree Nevermind, good government provides social safeguards as in the case of dentists which you mentioned, sometimes it appears to be bureaucratic but it stops abuse. Not so the secretive Biblical “two witnesses” method claimed by JW org. which permits a climate of abuse. Common sense and good laws are better than reliance on outdated holy texts.

A long aquaintance with the literature of the Witnesses leads one to the conclusion that they live in the intellectual ‘twilight zone’.

I still think the most ridiculous thing I was ever told was the whole "Satan put dinosaur bones in the ground to trick people."
Well, that and the whole Smurfs= Satan thing..... funny how this JW generation doesn't seem to have the same Smurf phobia mine did. Has there been some 'new light' regarding these little blue demons?

An older JW lady once told me that I that 'brothers' don't like smart girls; if I ever wanted to get a husband, I would have to pretend to be an airhead. This woman also told me another time that men are smarter than women. This from a woman who HATED men!

We didn't have the whole Smurf phobia thing where I grew up Trish. Cabbage Patch dolls were a bit of a worry ... apparently, but not the little blue men. Go figure!
SG ....... I was told a few times by older 'sisters' that I'd have to curb my tongue in order to be a 'good Christian wife' ............. yet back then I barely said two words! Maybe those two words were not spiritual enough!!!

The most outrageous thing my parents told me is that they would love me unconditionally. The second I was disfellowshipped I realized that was one big lie. After 5 years of being DF'ed and an apostate I called my mom to ask her simply if she loved me. Her response was "I love what Jehovah loves and hate what Jehovah hates and Jehovah hates who you are and what you've become." Or in normal people talk "no I don't love, I hate you."

That's terrible, proud. That goes against the very heart of what being a parent means. NonJWs stand by their children who are in jail for doing really horrendous, dispicable things. Yet JWs cut their children out of their lives over what could be something stupid and certainly not criminal.

Loved it. The little boy dancing in the background and making faces at the camera stole the show. What's this about women magically becoming men? Never heard that one before. Who says we ladies WANT to be men? Hilarious.

ApostateProud, I am so sorry your mother said that to you. When I was in, years ago, the unconditional love thing was about people in the org, not strictly about family members. Or that was how I saw it. But for your mother to say what she said to you, I think shows the depths to which that organization has sunk. If she ever makes her way out of there, she will likely just crumble with the thought of saying that to you. I cannot imagine.......

My Greatgrandma's hundred year old family bible allegedly started smoking from all the demons locked into it and has to be thrown away, according to my mother.
I also heard the tamping dinosaur theory, Cacky. I think that's a great one.

That the JWs are the most persecuted religion in the world thus making them the true religion.

Regards Paul (MDA - Mentally diseased apostate)!

I know, right?! What's the point in traveling if the things you want to see won't be around? Think of all the architecture, paintings and drawings, musical compositions that would get destroyed...why would anyone want to live on a planet without such beautiful things?
That was yet another thing that led me to realize the whole Armageddon thing is bollocks. And even if it were true I wouldn't want to be there anyway. The JW version of "paradise" would be my personal hell! smiley: sick
