I believe that there were 13 people at the Last Supper which was actually the celebration of the Passover meal in Judaism.  Jesus apparently claimed that the bread that they ate was representative of his flesh and that the wine was representative of his blood.  I'm guessing that this story was written by the authors of the Gospels to indicate the early Christians' belief that Jesus was the Messiah.  The  Roman Catholics believe that when they consume this meal at Mass each week that the food and beverage literally becomes the flesh and blood of Yeshua the Christ.  This is called "transubstantiation".  I'm glad that I wasn't involved with Roman Catholicism for too long, cannibalism is not a ritual that I would feel comfortable participating in.  I wonder why the Biblical authors never seemed to condemn cannibalism?
