Can it get much crazier?

Planned speech, by Swedish Foreign Minister has upset Muslim state so much that ambassadors have been recalled, and she may have to resign.
The speech, as planned included these radical offensive words :
Human rights are a priority in Swedish foreign policy. Freedom of association, assembly, religion and expression are not only fundamental rights and important tools in the creation of vibrant societies. They are indispensable in the fight against extremism and radicalization. So is a vibrant civil society. ... Yesterday was International Women's Day. This is a day to celebrate women's achievements, recognize challenges, and focus attention on women's rights, women's representation and their adequate resources.
Shock. Horrors.
You see, apparently this vicious attack on Muslim traditions (apparently they don't realize the terrible self reference) whenever 'human', 'women' and 'rights' are mentioned in the same context has caused an enormous political and economic backlash. Note that the offended nations have large 'mainstream' Muslim populations, not just alleged 'economic radicals' like ISIS

The description of the offense taken in Saudi Arabia sounds like something out of The Onion! Unfortunately, fundamentalists are that crazy.

Looks like Gatestone isn't as non-partisan as they would like you to believe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatestone_Institute

Racialism, nationalism, and xenophobia are derogatory stigma's levelled against otherwise easy- going people when they complain about strangers. If immigrants bring alien ethical standards into societies, (many of which have heroic folk tales of they're struggles for liberty and justice) resentment is understandable. A multicultural fantasy has turned out to be a multi-ethical nightmare.

I see no problem with the words used by the foreign minister. The problems are in laws and things presumed to be laws.
In America we see and hear often of things that have violated some other person's civil rights or some other right that their native country doesn't have. How are we to give them rights that their own constitution never spoke of? How are we upset about something in Syria and apply American law to the situation? This would only be possible if we are harboring a political refugee.
Us and other nations are also upset so much that we might be offending Muslims. Why? This "offense" is only in Sharia -- a law that is religious to them and they do not have it in our secular governments. They want this law in secular governments anywhere they live in the world, but it is not there.
It's like saying I am offended because you are eating pork. I am offended that you are watching scantily clad women on television. Everything must now be done my way.
Somehow I don't think so.

I'm sure it can and will. We just had a bunch of loony toon congress send a letter warning a foreign government not to trust our President. That's my interpretation of it anyway. It gets worse every day. Every place!

This definitely is a clash of cultures........Muslims need to understand that not everyone follows the ways of Islam......The world is large enough to have many belief systems and they need to be tolerant of others.......Otherwise, it could become truly violent and will leave much destruction in its wake......In 2015, it is hard to believe that tolerance is lacking, especially after all that has happened.......A summit is needed ,bringing all the worlds religions together as well as atheists, and discuss how each can live together peacefully without resorting to violence.......A secular world would be so much better, with everyone respecting each others faith or lack thereof.........

I don't believe that all Muslims are violent extremists or even fundamentalists, however I do find it to be a serious issue when extremist and fundamentalist Muslims insist that countries that are not ruled by fanatical Islamic leaders should promote Sharia "law" or allow Muslims to abide by their own separate set of religious "rules" instead of having to abide by the same laws that other religious and non-religious groups are required to abide by that have been decided by a secular government. Why should Muslims be granted such a privilege and not all other religious or secular groups? Muslims aren't any more special than Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Scientologists, Taoists, followers of the Baha'i religion, Unitarian Universalists, LaVeyan Satanists, Jains, agnostics, atheists etc. Muslims can believe that Islam is the "one and only true religion" and that only one denomination of Islam is the "one and only correct group of Muslims" all they want to, keep in mind that there are other religious groups that think that they have the "truth" and that only one denomination, sect, branch, splinter group or movement within that religion that has the "one and only correct" interpretation of the religion.
The whole of the Islamic religion cannot call itself a "religion of peace" when so many Muslims extremists and fundamentalists want to force non-Muslims or ex-Muslims to abide by or continue to abide by Islamic belief and practices or force them to convert or reconvert to the religion under the threats of having their of their civil rights taken away entirely or limited, having to face imprisonment, becoming victims of violence, facing public or private execution or even having worry about genocidal actions being taken against whole groups of people or countries. No religion can call itself a "religion of peace" and do those things. Whatever happened to the Golden Rule? What ever happened to empathy? What loving god, if one existed, would approve of such behavior that I'm quite sure harms other people and does not contribute to the improvement of the human race.
