I doubt that Liberty University teaches Biblical criticism and analyzes the text from a critical point of view.  Every Christian denomination, sect, branch, splinter group or movement has a different view of the Christian religion and most of them, particularly the fundamentalist groups believe that they have the only correct interpretation of the Bible and of the Christian religion.  Christianity seems to have deviated from its Jewish roots, so wouldn't that mean that none of them are correct?  The Apostle Paul and the early Gentile converts to Christianity didn't seem to be too fond of the idea of circumcision which they would have to undergo after converting to Judaism before becoming Christians.

Jesus was Jewish and a rabbi, so it strikes me as being quite strange that a devout Jew would tell his followers that the "laws" of the Torah were no longer relevant.  Most Christians would never literally act on some of the more violent actions prescribed in the "laws" of the Torah .  Many fundamentalist Christians pay lip service to such passages, but they won't literally act on them, which is somewhat hypocritical when you often hear them say that people are obligated to follow the "laws" of the Bible whether they agree with such "laws" or not.
