Not unexpectedly, Costco apologized for the bibles with a different book's "Fiction" sticker over the intended one:
“We deeply regret the mislabeling of the Bible and meant no offense to anyone,” the company wrote in an email received by several customers. “The buyer has let us know that this was an error and the books are being pulled off the shelves to be re-marked.”
Cue the angelic choirs.
We received a statement from Costco, too, it reads: "Costco's distributor mislabeled a small percentage of the Bibles, however we take responsibility and should have caught the mistake. We are correcting this with them for future distribution. In addition, we are immediately relabeling all mislabeled Bibles. We greatly apologize for this error."

Costco pointed out on Twitter:
The pic shown on foxnews.com has 1 sticker on top of other. Hope this clears up the misunderstanding.
FYI: The SKU you see is for CANTERBURY CLASSIC ASSORT, not the BIBLE. Hope this helps! Please let your readers know. Thanks :)

Every copy of the Bible was labeled "fiction" at a Costco store in Simi Valley, California. A local pastor and a Fox news commentator are upset that the warehouse inadvertently committed truth in labeling.

Yeah, me too. I was just in a small book store the other day and I didn't have the nerve to do it, because the owner works very hard there. But at B&N? Yeah, I'd do it.
