As I have said before, I thought that voluntarily leading a life of celibacy was a "honor" in Christianity? Well, such an "honor" is generally forced upon people who don't want to marry their partner and it is also forced upon lesbian, gay and bisexual persons in same-sex relationships. They are required to lead a life of romantic and sexual repression until death, if they want to continue being a member of their religious community. I doubt that Liberty University teaches Biblical criticism or analyses the Bible from an unbiased viewpoint without promoting a belief in a literal interpretation of the text. Non-religious Biblical scholars, historians and archeologists tend do a very good job at looking at the Bible in a critical way without promoting a certain religious point of view, more than their religious counterparts. I don't think Liberty University does that, especially since it was founded by Jerry Falwell who was a very fundamentalist Christian who held to a literal interpretation of the Bible isn't supposed to be deviated from or questioned.
