His posts and defense of his arguments were as asinine as it gets. He was quite an industrious fundie, I can tell that. He even uploaded quite ridiculous videos of himself imitating atheists or just promoting creationism and fundamentalism. He is a joke, but not a funny one.

I don't want to be breathing someone else's pot fumes (or their tobacco fumes, but that's a slightly separate issue); legalizing pot were limited to, say, pot brownies, I'd be 100% for this. Totally.
As is...I have trepidation, just because of the fact that it's not contained to the user.

Speak for yourself.
I smoked recreationally for years. Quit because it was no longer enjoyable. I can't stand being stoned now. I don't mind the smell, but if I'm getting stoned it is going to be my choice. I have friends and family that smoke it and they leave the room or go outside out of consideration.
Honestly, this thread kind of disgusts me.
Obviously the OP is not against legal Mary Jane. He is against having to be affected by inconsiderate smokers that choose to light up in public areas. The OP never spoke against smoking areas, lounges, etc. Those are places people can avoid if they don't want to get stoned or have other reactions.
As a cigarette smoker I practice regard for others around me. Many people do not like the smell or effects of smoking cigarettes. I care about that. I'm considerate. If I still smoked herb I would be even more inclined to do the same because, unlike cigarettes, it can affect another persons state of mind or cost em a job!
In the end it it comes down to image. Google search "Marijuana Propaganda" for a refresher on how weed got demonized in the first place. There are many people in society who are easily influenced by others. The sheep. These same people judge books by their cover, remember the worst, and make decisions based on their own biases. If your out there lighting up inconsiderately, then that is going to have its own effects and alter peoples biases when it comes down to public opinion. Be better than that. Not because of the small minded fuckers, but because you have always been. They're the fools to begin with right?
I'm for this movement and I'll back it 100%, but if asstards that wanna blow it at me and my kids face when it is legal, keep talking, your gonna fuck it all up.
