It's interesting that historical and archaeological research largely seem to disprove many of the Bible's claims. The Bible is not a "historically accurate" text and we can probably be fairly certain that it never was. The historical Jesus is most likely as dead as a doornail and was never "resurrected" from the dead. I guarantee that any certified Biblical scholar or historian will probably tell you that Jesus was not a very important figure during his lifetime. Flavius Josephus was a Greek-speaking Jew and he rejected the idea of Jesus being the Messiah. He was the only historian who would have written about Jesus because Roman aristocrats could have care less about an apocalyptic Jewish preacher.
