My response about Cardinal Raymond Burke

Raymond Burke is one of the pope's strongest opponents. The 66 year-old Burke believes homosexuality is, 'always and everywhere wrong [and] evil,' and continuously questioned the authority of Pope Francis, now 77. Burke told Buzzfeed in October:
“The pope is not free to change the church’s teachings with regard to the immorality of homosexual acts or the insolubility of marriage or any other doctrine of the faith.”

Dear Readers,

I thought that the Pope's authority was "infallible" ?  What proof does Cardinal Burke who can never date, have sex or marry have that homosexuality "is always and everywhere 'wrong' and 'evil' "? The concept of marriage doesn't belong to the Roman Catholic Church. The RCC doesn't have to marry same-sex couples if they don't want to.  The Church's teachings that homosexual acts are "immoral" is actually more immoral to me than homosexual acts themselves could ever be.  How is it moral deny a small part of the population who are also human beings the right form age-appropriate romantic and sexual relationships with other consenting adults which is something most heterosexuals take for granted.  I am an ex- Roman Catholic.  I am an ex-member of numerous religious groups.  I don't agree with much of Roman Catholicism now that I am an atheist, but it is nice to see that you have a Pope who is more liberal and isn't constantly making a nuisance of himself.  Cardinal Burke is the kind of religious person who makes this earth an even more worse place to be.

It's that kind of attitude that is turning people off religion.  It seems that promoting division, hatred, bigotry and discrimination is more important to many religious people than making sure that people better themselves as individuals. RCC clergy aren't allowed to date, marry or have sex and Raymond Burke who can never have sex or marry as long as he remains a clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church has the gall to preach about the "insolubility" of marriage?  That's like asking a dentist to perform heart surgery on you, despite the fact that they never went through the proper medical training that is required in order for a person to perform heart surgeries.

Sincerely,

B.W.
