Why does anyone new to proclaim their religion for a campaign anyways? I don't think that the "I am a Mormon" campaign that is run and sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Orthodox Mormonism) was very effective. I am an ex-Mormon and I don't think that creating a bunch of videos that portray Orthodox Mormons as not being these weird, evil people was effective at illustrating why Mormonism is worth believing in or true, I'm borrowing this phraseology from the well-known atheistic transgendered female activist, Zinnia Jones who stated this in her YouTube video. Yes, most Mormons may be good people, but that doesn't mean that they don't believe in some very wrong things. I don't encourage anyone to automatically accept any belief without further critical examination first, especially if the belief is endorsed by seemingly "nice" people, just like Zinnia Jones suggested.
I think that society is definitely moving away from religion, especially considering the fact that you are not allow to question "authoritative" dictates of religious leaders or have a dissenting opinion in your religious group without getting kicked out of the religious group itself. What right does any religious individual or group have to tell someone that they cannot think for themselves? You cannot control what goes on in someone else's find nor should you be able to. Humans have the right to formulate their own thoughts and to change their views if necessary. What do you think?
