DSN
We call our Outreach Do Something NOW and it includes hands-on service and donations to various organizations around the community
Here are some examples of the DSN Outreach we have done and are doing at CoHH:
Katherine Smith Elementary: Each year we gather school supplies for the elementary school up the street. We have great fun shopping and feel so blessed to help these kids have a positive learning environment.
Houston Food Bank: This is a great organization that provides food to over 18 counties. 94% of their donations go to the working poor. We volunteer as group to sort and pack canned goods, bag rice and beans. We really want to get or hands on the conveyor belt as well as do some cooking in their kitchen! We also raise money for the Houston Food Bank. We call the campaign “Buy a Ton of Food.” The food bank can purchase 10 pounds of food for every $1 they receive in donations.
Settegast Heights Village: Each Christmas we participate in the celebration at Settegast by purchasing gifts for the children, donating sandwiches and cookies, and helping to distribute the gifts. We love to go shopping for the children and take great delight in wrapping each and every present.
Give Us a Hammer: We have participated in a Habitat for Humanity build and we will continue to do so! We love it!

Mission & Vision
“That they may all be one.” - John 17:21
The Vision of the Cathedral of Hope Houston is to be a community of hope proclaiming God’s inclusive love, removing barriers to faith and empowering all people to grow in grace toward wholeness.
The Mission of the Cathedral of Hope Houston is to reclaim Christianity as a faith of Extravagant Grace, Radical Inclusion and Relentless Compassion. At the Cathedral of Hope Houston, every member is a minister of the church. We believe we are here to serve, not to be served.
We are a distinct and diversity community of Christians that come together as one church, joining faith and action.
We enthusiastically lift up that the UCC is a welcoming, justice-minded Christian community. At a time when religion is too often portrayed as narrow-minded and exclusive, we are raising our voices for an alternate vision:
◾Where God is all-loving & inclusive
◾Where the Church of Jesus Christ welcomes and accepts everyone as they are
◾Where your mind is nourished as much as your soul
◾Where Jesus the healer meets Jesus the revolutionary
◾Where together we grow a just and peaceful world

Introduction
Cathedral of Hope Houston is a church like a great many other churches. We are not going to try and tell you that what you will find here is so unique you will never encounter it anywhere else. But here’s just a little bit about how we see ourselves, what we found have found at CoHH, and what we are trying to build.
Some of us have gone to church all our lives. Some of us have been wounded by the church and stayed away for a long, long time. Others do not have a background of attending church. We have all found a place though at Cathedral of Hope Houston UCC where we feel loved for exactly who we are; a place where together we can love God, love each other, and reach out and love the world. Come and see us!
No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here—to explore your faith, meet new people, and strengthen your personal relationship with God.
Cathedral of Hope Houston is a place to belong…really!

We are a distinct and diversity community that comes together as one church, joining faith and action. We are a place to belong…no kidding!
Cathedral of Hope Houston (CoHH) is a church like a great many other churches. We are not going to try and tell you that what you will find here is so unique you will never encounter it anywhere else. We just know that we have found a place to belong and it just might be a place for you to belong as well.
Some of us have gone to church all our lives. Some of us have been wounded by the church and stayed away for a long, long time. Others did not grow up as a part of a church. We have all found a place where we feel loved for exactly who we are; a place where together we can love God, love each other, and reach out and love the world.
