The Australian Government has just posted the Elder's letter dated 10/1/2012 for the world to see. I wonder if WT will go after them now for copyright infringement like they did all of us who posted this letter;
http://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/images/stories/committees/fcdc/inquiries/57th/Child_Abuse_Inquiry/Submissions/Steven_Unthank_Supp_A_Appendix_1.pdf

So now it's public repost this shit everywhere so people can see the watchtower policy

Good pickup Shane. I live in the Land of Oz as you know and didn't see this one.
It's quite damning for the WBTS. Let's protect the kids but let the Legal Department know first. Let's make the parents solely responsible but remind them they need TWO witnesses to the abuse before we do anything about it.
I'd like to see the WBTS try and take this away from the Child Abuse Inquiry people in Victoria!
Sooooooooooooooooooooo ...... the WBTS replied to the Inquiry's inquiry ....... HERE is their reply ....
It has some details blacked out ... presumably by the Government committee.    Makes for interesting reading.

With regards to Working with Children checks .... it would be interesting if other states have followed suit and had their elders and others apply for the cards!

Full transcript of the Committee proceedings regarding the WBTS in Melbourne (Victoria) ... can be read HERE ......
 Again ... interesting reading.

There are probably five or six paragraphs in
the entire book of about 180 pa
ges that have to do with
child abuse, because child a
buse is not something that
Jehovah’s Witnesses have a great
 deal of problem with.

The victims should band together and have a lawyer or someone 'wordy' draw up a letter asking the court system NOT to allow the woman to be released early and if she is released ... to ensure she is housed well away from them AND from other potential victims. Over here we have a Victim Notification Register that people can sign up for and then be warned in advance if an offender is going to be released. Doesn't make sense she's being released early ..... but then she may be one of those people who has been good as gold on the inside, and she's conned everyone into believing she won't hurt anyone again.
As for elders claiming she wasn't really a witness ...... goodness me, how many of them have said that type of thing over the years!!!!

Inspecter, I find this information very interesting as I happen to know (or knew) one of the two JWs in question.
What are they up to, both the witnesses and the medical authorities?  Actually the witnesses are making money it seems but what about the medical administration? Are they being influenced by the WTBTS somehow?

A long aquaintance with the literature of the Witnesses leads one to the conclusion that they live in the intellectual ‘twilight zone’.

smiley: laugh

Do ducks fly? Does a skunk stink?

Of course they are 'influenced' by the WTBS.
Absolutely. How can they not be? We know how the Society works.
Farmer came up the ranks with a Grade 10 education, was trained by the WTBS as  a Hospital Liaison dude.
Do you think that he just happened to stumble on a better opportunity once he was connected to the medical community and then said goodbye to the WTBS control?? Both him and Hoffman? And the countless other JWs that are involved in the bloodless industry?

Pfffttt...of course the WTBS has 'influence'...how about full control and ownership?

My vote is for that one.

More on this thread here.

I see you meant the medical administration being influenced by the Wtbs.

Yes.

I believe so.

Info that John shared for those wishing to see his comments to UK Charity Commission:
"If you are a UK national and wish to register a complaint against Jehovah's Witnesses with the Charity Commission, here is the link you need...
http://www.charitycommission.gov.uk/c...
I recommend lodging your complaint against the WATCH TOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY OF BRITAIN, registered charity no. 1077961
When choosing my option of complaint, I chose the final option, "Serious non-compliance in a charity which, left unchecked, could damage public trust and confidence in the Charity Commission as an effective regulator"
When asked if I had evidence, I said yes.
When asked to provide a summary of evidence, I said the following... "This so-called 'charity' is in serious breach of the rules on public benefit. The benefit statements on Watchtower's SIR are deliberately misleading. Watchtower, and its various affiliated organizations in the UK including the International Bible Students Association (no. 216647) and all congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses, are engaged in work that is detrimental to public benefit in 5 key areas: (1) Their child abuse policies, as demonstrated by their elder's guidebook and letters of instruction to elders (e.g. Oct 1, 2012), put children in danger by insisting that the branch should initially manage child abuse accusations rather than the police, (2) they violate the human rights of former members (like myself) by coercing believing family members to shun them (not talk to them), as evidenced by various magazine articles and talk recordings, (3) they dissuade abused women from seeking a divorce, insisting that only adultery is suitable grounds for divorce, and implying through their literature that reading the bible is a cure for a violent spouse, (4) since 1945 Jehovah's Witnesses have been coerced by Watchtower to spurn certain medical treatments, namely blood transfusions, resulting in needless deaths, and (5) young people in the religion are dissuaded from pursuing higher education thus impairing their future employment options, as evidenced by various magazine articles and talk recordings."
When asked about additional facts and information, I said... "I have an abundance of evidence in the form of magazine articles, copies of books, first-hand accounts and talk recordings to substantiate my claims. I would be willing to send this to the CC in a dossier on request, or present it in person."
When asked about attempts I made to get the charity to correct the issue, I said: "I have written to the organization's leadership in America (the Governing Body, with recorded delivery) to protest their policies without receiving any reply. In 2011 I was involved in newspaper coverage (in the Independent) of Watchtower's shunning policies and hate language towards former members (calling such ones "mentally diseased"). The response of the organization in the UK at that time was to lie about their policies to the media. Since then I have disassociated myself from the organization in protest. At my apostasy trial in December 2013 the elders hearing my case flat-out refused to discuss doctrines or policy with me. Since leaving I have been punished by having my family coerced into shunning me in direct breach of my rights per article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. My baby daughter is now without an aunt (my sister) or a grandfather (my dad) thanks to this organization."
I was only asked for my name, email and a phone number, so it should be relatively straightforward for most UK nationals to fill in this complaint form.
Remember only THIRTEEN complaints were received against the Watchtower between March 2010 and March 2012, and this was enough to make them one of the top two most-complained-about organizations. Imagine what we can do if we all work together and make our voices heard!
If instead you want to tweet the charity commission, their main twitter account is @ChtyCommission
Here is a link to the "Third Sector" article about Jehovah's Witnesses being in the top-two most complained about charities... http://www.thirdsector.co.uk/news/116...
And here is a link to the Independent article on the child abuse case referred to in this video... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/...
If you are a representative of the Charity Commission watching this video and you would like to arrange to meet with me or review my evidence, please contact me at this email address: contact@jwsurvey.org"

Gross. You get sexually abused and then have to sit and let him interrogate you. I guess this is something you can drop by to your families. Just shows how insane their "child protection policies" are, and how they actually get handled.

Yes, Andria, the nefarious Mr. Farmer is a busy little boy, isn't he?
And yes, I read the other article. It was the one Inspecter posted first.

Farmer has quite the bio, doesn't he?
I was on a roll with Shannon Farmer a while back and was amazed that someone with so little medical background and so little academic credentials is considered an authority on 'bloodless medicine'. Not only has he written a book that is supposed to be a seminal reference for 'layman', he sure gets around the world giving 'expert' research results, etc.

Hmmm...I wonder if his speaking for pharmaceutical companies is considered 'putting in his time'. Eh...he probably doesn't have to go door to door and he just enters all the time he devotes to the WTBS noblood movement as his 'dedication to Jehovah'. After all, presenting all that bogus 'scientific' material to all those medical people would be considered 'spreading the good news' to all the lands.

smiley: laugh 'Adjunct Senior Research Fellow'. Sure. pffffft.

Read the above results from his 'research'. His 'research' is a joke and would not hold water in any reputable research field.
It certainly doesn't fit the scientific model - the holes in the study are obvious and alarming and not only that, there are huge, huge issues around ethical behaviour. I am very surprised that this program is still running after the shoddy results that the pilot had.

Does nobody in the Australian government have any idea how to read a scientific study??? Do they not know how to check out who they are dealing with?? The one guy who was in the ground floor planning for the pilot said he had no idea he was dealing with Jehovah's Witnesses. What is up with that? He said that he knew Shannon for quite some time. I have a really, really, hard time believing that his religious affiliation wasn't known.

Who in the Australian Health Authority is a Jehovah's Witness? I smell something fishy wafting up from down under that smells pretty bad. There is something going on...Farmer's affiliation with the JW's was well known. He came up through the ranks on the Jehovah's Witness Liaison Committee and that is listed on many of his bios that I have read. The doctor that claims he didn't know Farmer's religious affiliation is lying or deliberately stupid.

And, another thing - I researched that Alex Hoffman character quite extensively a couple years ago. I always wondered about him - especially after I discovered his photo with a bunch of stem cell research guys. At the time I was looking into him, I never could find his JW connection but now when I read the articles posted, I guess he is a JW after all. Huh. Who knew?

From Farmer's bio:

He is on the National Blood Authority Expert Working Group and Clinical
Reference Group developing national evidence-based PBM Guidelines. He was a
founding member of Society for the Advancement of Blood Management

Evidence based guidelines?? Evidence based?
Huh. not likely.
Read that article again.

Hospital department heads were told during the pilot program at Fremantle that using more than one unit of blood for certain patients was contrary to National Blood Authority guidelines. However, the NBA guidelines were not published until well after the pilot was finished. These guidelines, once published, did not contain an evidence-based recommendation for a single-unit policy.
A poster used to promote the single unit policy claims that the policy is in accordance with the 2001 guidelines of the nation’s peak health body, the National Health and Medical Research Council. There is no such policy in those 13-year-old guidelines.

And about SABM - the society that lists the Watchtower Society as receiving the President's Award in 2002. Lol! I see that information has now been removed from their website. The SABM was founded by Jehovah's Witnesses acting on behalf of the WTBS.

Totally agree with you Dianne. The thing is ... both of those men (be the other one a jdub or not) obviously have the gift of the gab and that is how they wormed their way into their alleged 'expert' status. I have no idea how either of them can sleep at night.
When I was growing up still in the religious lifestyle ....... Shannon Farmer left high school in Year 10 and didn't go onto further education (or that's what I was told back then) ... none of us did as it was considered a huge waste of time to advance oneself when the world was ending in 1974. Shannon was lauded as being one of 'the' upcoming 'regular pioneers' who had 'dedicated his entire life to serving Jehovah'. He was hotly pursued by goodness knows how many of the upwardly mobile would-be 'sisters' and their hierarchy chasing parents ....... and right into his early 20's he didn't seem to show an interest in any of them. I had an inkling he was gay! He was the poster boy back in the day ... the one others were told to look up to because he was 'spiritually strong' and focused on his faith.
Given Shannon's zest for his religious background ... I can't see him not being upfront with his religious affiliation ................... perhaps the government officials and health department back when he first started this 'group' ... recognised they were on a winner financially. He had funding from outside sources (the American link) and not being a bonefide health professional with the educational 'letters' after his name ... meant they didn't have to pay him as much!
It just seems wrong to me that a man who is not a medical professional and who is not even a scientist ... can have so much sway on a program that can affect people so directly. It will be interesting if the two-day conference still goes ahead or has as much clout now that The Sunday Times reporters are delving into the whole thing! Gav told me about the article when I picked him up from work last night ....... which means we're not the only ones asking questions now!

My guess is ..... there will be a whole bunch of diehard jdubs around the world who will make comments that Shannon Farmer and Axel Hofmann are 'not really Jehovah's Witnesses' or that the anti-jdub sentiment is due to people ..... like us! *yawn*

Yeah, Andria...it seems pretty odd to go from not finishing high school to being a published author and directing 'scientific' studies and research. Unbelievable. I am flabbergasted that he presents research material to doctors. It is beyond ludicrous. His credentials are...I don't know what to call them....besides really fucking flimsy.

The Australian Government has just posted the Elder's letter dated 10/1/2012 for the world to see. I wonder if WT will go after them now for copyright infringement like they did all of us who posted this letter;

Woops...sorry, halfbanana...I didn't read your post properly.

As I have always said, - a Watchtower trained top dog - trained to jump the blood hoops for the WTBS.
