God says "man shall not lay with a man as he would a woman". I hope Michigan will not follow the other states, it is wrong. Mark Schauer needs to go.

I hope Michigan does follow the other state. I think Mark Schauer needs to stay. We need more people who support equality under the law for everyone. Homosexuality is only "wrong" to you because you think your god says so, yet you have no testable, peer-reviewed or conclusive evidence to support the existence of your god who ironically hates and dislikes the same things that you hate and dislike.  I don't think your god said that "man shall not lay with a man as he would a woman", the Biblical authors claim that their god said that, yet what harm is a man laying down with a man as he would with a woman doing to anyone? Did it ever occur to you that the Bible's views on same-sex relationships are wrong? Should eating shellfish be prohibited, should we kill the prostitute daughters of rabbis, kill people who work on the Sabbath, force women to marry their rapists or stone disobedient children? Can we own and beat slaves? Do you support those Biblical "laws" too, Susan Yancer?

+Susan Yancer I agree. We need to keep gays from marrying even if they aren't Christian. We also need to keep atheists from marrying since they aren't welcoming God into their unions and we should vote against letting Hindus marry because they're intentionally breaking God's commandment to not have any other gods before him. Marriage is a Christian thing and people (gays, atheist and people of other religions) shouldn't legally be able to get married unless they're going to be Christian and do it...

I don't think that gays should be kept for legally marry each other whether they are Christians or not. I don't think atheists should be exempt from marrying just because they don't put your god into their unions.  Hindus should not have their right to marry put on a vote.  The reason that Hindus break your god's "commandment" to "not have any other gods before him" is because they believe that your god (Yahweh) is a false god and their gods and goddesses are the true deities and that Hinduism is the one and only true religion, well many of them do anyways.  Marriage is not a "Christian thing". Religious marriages and secular marriages are not the same thing. Gays, atheists and people of other religions should be able to legally get married to the persons they love and they shouldn't have to be Christian to do it.  Christians are not the only ones entitled to civil marriage, Durrell.

Susan and Durrell, what are you two doing on an atheistic blog anyways? There are plenty of Christian websites, forums and blogs for you to visit.  I think you two just want to act like little trolls. By the way, in case you didn't know, there are non-Christian religious groups that don't consider the marriages of Christian people as being valid, they might even consider you to be fornicators. Yet, you don't see religious people who are non-Christians in America wanting to eliminate the right for Christians to get legally married.  Religious marriages performed in religious houses of worship are not acknowledged by the government since we have a separation of church in state. I feel sorry for you two bigots, you can hate the LGBT community all you want, just don't expect the government to do it for you.
