Daniel, that was an excellent video from Ireland. However, when it ended, there were a few other links to other videos. One was entitled "Vote No To The Gay." It is another Irish video which is an absolutely phenomenal and comical satire of those opposed to marriage equality. I laughed out loud watching it. The narrator is a Betty Bowers like Irish woman with a picture of Pope Francis, who explains why marriage equality will lead to nuclear devastation. If you want a good laugh, check it out.

Barney Frank talking to Seth Meyers on the SCOTUS decision

There's only so long myth can sustain itself against reality.
. . . I suspect Scalia will stamp his feet like Rumplestiltskin and go up in a puff of smoke.

Wonderful video, Daniel.  Would any station in the US dare to run such a thing?  Even now??? [sigh]

Hmmmmm - being locked in a closet with Marcus might completely reverse my opinion that conversion therapy doesn't work.

Amazing record high in USA support for marriage equality.

I truly never imagined this level of support in my lifetime.

I don't know what Republican conversion therapy would involve.  Making them watch videos of Michelle Bachman and administer electric shocks and ice baths?  Put them into locked closets with Marcus Bachmann?

I keep thinking WA state is so liberal.  Compared to much of the country it is.  But it's no liberal monolith.

More on the pope and the gay ambassador from France.  Apparently the pope met him in person.  "Pope Francis himself was reported to have personally rejected the posting, telling members of the Curia that he "would not yield". The Vatican used this method in 2007, to reject a previously nominated gay ambassador from France."

Washington State GOP Blocks Bill to Ban Abusive “Gay Conversion” Th...

Yesterday, Washington state Democrats moved to ban so-called “gay conversion” therapy, focusing on abusive practices like electric shock and ice baths, but were blocked by Republican lawmakers.
The Washington state senate voted 22-27 to refuse to consider the bill. ““I am appalled that the Republican majority killed legislation to protect kids from electric shock, ice baths, and other physical and emotional abuse, simply because they’re gay. We need to end conversion therapy once and for all,” said sponsor Senator Marko Liias(D).
The bill had originally cleared the Senate back in March, but after changes were made in the House version, Republicans now oppose it, and are insisting on their own changes. The GOP reportedly was upset at efforts to ban “talk conversion therapy” – which has no scientific basis, as there is just no proof someone can simply be talked out of a sexual orientation.
The bill is now “likely dead,” according to the local press, as only five days remain in the legislative session. Thanks to the GOP's hangup over one provision in the bill, even the most extreme forms of gay conversion therapy will sadly remain legal in Washington state.
 How about Republican conversion therapy?.

On that video, I think one reason it so touches me is I truly loved my parents. And they would have been as likely to vote for marriage equality, as they would have been to roast live babies on a rotating spit over a mesquite fire, with rosemary-pepper dressing.
